TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us for our Summer Film Fest. We will be showing films on various dates during Summer 2019. These free events require no registration.

Thursday, August 1st at 2 PM – SciFi Feature – Big Hero 6 (PG; 108 min) [10+]

 

 

 

Thursdays at 2 PM in the Parker Williams Library Community Room, we will be featuring a different Science Fiction movie for kids each week.

Here is a description of this week’s feature:

Harry Potter Birthday Celebration!

Come to the Evelyn Meador Branch Library to celebrate your favorite wizard by coming to this amazing birthday celebration! On July 31, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, we'll be celebrating Harry Potter's birthday with Sphero Quidditch, Harry Potter Games, Wizarding Crafts, and Magical Refreshments. The event will take place in the Meeting Room, with additional activities in the Teen Isle. All ages are welcome to this awesome event, so please drop in anytime it's going on to join the festivities!

If you aren't able to come to the party, we'll have Harry Potter word searches and matching games in the Teen Isle all week. Come get a book in the Harry Potter series and grab one while you're here to make sure you celebrate the holiday right!

TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us for our Summer Film Fest. We will be showing films on various dates during Summer 2019. These free events require no registration.

TGIF Programs continues its annual Summer Film Fest on Friday, 7/26 at 10:15 AM with the 2018 biopic which takes a look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969. This PG-13 rated-film which features Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, and Jason Clarke lasts 141 minutes.

Summer is Here, Time to Read!

The Harris County Public Library is starting it’s Summer Reading Program, “A Universe of Stories”, on June 3rd, so it’s almost time to start reading! This year, record your reading on our website, or sign up on the Beanstack app, to earn points and prizes for all ages. Then come to the library to collect your prizes, like books, earbuds, and gift certificates.

Also, don’t forget to pick up a calendar of summer events at the library, or check them on our online calendar, so that you don’t miss out on great programs for all ages like educational classes, fun festivals, crafts, and other events.
