In this talk participants will learn a simple but powerful method of meditation that can transform your life spiritually. Join, Daya Sharma who has been practicing meditation for over 15 years. Daya will discuss how meditation can help heal us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Learn how meditation can connect one to the universal fountainhead of divine peace, bliss, and illumination within us. Through meditation each of us can experience more peaceful, enriching and meaningful lives.

TGIF Programs Hosts FamilySearch Genealogy Friday Morning!

TGIF Programs hostd an introduction to the upcoming FamilySearch Genealogy Q&A on Friday, 9/8 at 10:30 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. Local FamilySearch volunteers will be presenting.

Monday, 8/21 @ 12 PM - Eclipse Over Houston!

Join the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the Freeman Library, and SciArt Exchange for this historical event. We will be viewing the Solar Eclipse outside live and streaming in the Marge Jacobson Community Room.

**Please, NEVER look directly at the sun or a solar eclipse without proper viewing equipment. Eclipse viewing glasses will be distributed at the event.**

Adults - Thursday, 8/17 @ 6:30 PM - Green Thumb Lecture Series - Fall Vegetables

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners are pleased to offer the Green Thumb Gardening Series of lectures at the Freeman Library from January to October of 2017. Lectures will be held on the third Thursday of every month on a variety of topics. These Lectures are FREE.

This month's topic of discussion will be "Fall Vegetables" on Thursday, 8/17 at 6:30 pm in the first floor Community Room. The Friends of Freeman Library support the Green Thumb Lecture Series.

Come to the Freeman Library on Saturday, 8/19 at 10:15 AM in the first floor Meeting Room for an informative workshop provided by SCORE Houston on trademarks.

Adult Program: Meditation for Stress Reduction & Relaxation

Palm tree with clouds and oceanOur last special program for the 2017 Adult Summer Reading Program will be this Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 am on Meditation for Stress Reduction & Relaxation. Rosalinda Segovia-Robertson, National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers, will present the session. Rosalina recently led a class on Yoga Basics at the library and she is an excellent and patient teacher! For Ages 18+. Free. No registration required. No need to bring anything, but dress comfortably.

At the end of this program we will hold our drawing for the donated FitBit Flex 2 in which one winner will be selected out of all the attendees of our 5 special programs for Adult Summer Reading Program!
