Fly Girls - Celebrating Women's History Month - Wednesday, 3/20 at 6:00 PM

During a time when most women did not even have driver’s licenses, this group of women were flying military aircraft to help release male pilots for combat duty. Their duties included ferrying planes, towing targets to give ground and air gunners practice shooting with live ammunition. They also tested planes for sabotage and flew new planes to ensure instruments were safe. Come learn more about what this amazing group of women did for our country.

Whether you are already a seasoned researcher or just interested in starting your family tree research, WikiTree has something for everyone and this class will help you get started and learn how to build and add to your family history using WikiTree.

Adults - Mark Your Calendars for the “Kick the Sugar Habit” Workshop - Thursday, 2/7 at 6:00 PM

 

Valerie Coyle, Certified Health & Life Coach, will discuss: What sugar does in your body, Why we start & can’t stop, and How to transform sugar cravings. She will also talk about high fructose corn syrup, what spikes our blood sugar and creates a ‘blood sugar roller coaster’ and its results on hormone insulin and correlating hormone glucagon. Come and learn 7 solutions to sugar cravings.

Celebrate African American History Month With Us!

I love our national holidays that celebrate history and culture. Working at the library, I get the opportunity to plan and participate in programs that teach me more about cultures and to interact with peoples that I wouldn’t get to otherwise. That is why I am so excited that February is African American History Month and you should definitely be too. We have some amazing activities for all ages that will allow you to learn more about African American heritage and history, while having fun at the same time. Here are some of the great activities we have planned:
