Teens & Adults - The Adult Services and Young Adult Services Departments invite you to join us for the Freeman Cultural Series (#FMCulturalSeries) this May, to celebrate Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month. TGIF Programs Hosts Time Capsule Discussion Friday!

Adults - 50 years ago today, members of the Clear Lake community buried the Clear Lake Theatre Time Capsule (CLTTC). This Friday at 10:30 AM, TGIF Programs will host a brief discussion of the unearthed time capsule followed by a showing of The Trouble with Angels,  the film shown at the Clear Lake Theatre following the burial of the CLTTC back in 1966.

TGIF Programs This Friday - Remember the Battle of San Jacinto

Please join TGIF Programs on Friday, April 15 at 10:30 AM as we host Kristin Edwards, Public Relations/Marketing Specialist, City of Deer Park. She’ll present "Remember the Battle of San Jacinto" focusing on a brief history of Deer Park from 1836 on, the upcoming San Jacinto Day celebration, and a few other features of our City and the surrounding area. This event will appeal to Texas History students, scholars, and enthusiasts of all ages.

Passport Services Begin

U.S. passport services will begin at the library on Wednesday, April 13th, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM in the Community Room, courtesy of the Harris County District Clerk's office.  Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments may be made by calling 713-755-1674.  This service will be offered the second Wednesday of each month through June at 1:00 to 7:00 PM.  If this service is well-received by the community over the three-month period, the service may continue to be offered indefinitely.  For more information, please call or visit the library.

 

 

Saturday Morning - Houston Money Week - Investing in Uncertain Times

Please join us on Saturday, April 16 at 10:30 AM as Bruce Woodcock of Bruce Woodcock Financial Services will hold a seminar on finances during Houston Money Week. He will discuss the highs/lows and volatility of the stock market, asset allocation, and cash reserves. 

Get to Know Your Library April 12th @ 5 PM [All Ages]

 

     As a part of National Library Week, the Parker Williams Branch is hosting an information session in the Library Community Room at 5PM on April 12th so that everyone in our community has the opportunity to learn all of the different books, media, materials, and programs that are available through the Harris County Public Library.

TGIF Programs Hosting Mounting Horizons Presentation - Friday


This is no April Foolin'! TGIF Programs will host Joy Lewis of Mounting Horizons, Inc. (MHI) on Friday, April 1 at 10:30 AM. Mounting Horizons, Inc. MHI provides services for people in need promoting independence, self sufficiency, and advocating for the full inclusion in society.

TGIF Programs Tech Q&A Series - This Friday @ 10:30 AM

The TGIF Programs' popular “Technology Question & Answer” Series continues in the upstairs Training Lab this Friday at 10:30 AM. Here’s a chance to ask Freeman Library staff and other attendees about computers, smartphones, mobile devices, and eMedia from the HCPL Digital Media Catalog. Please feel free to bring along your portable, technology devices.

Baby boomers want to know: “Will Social Security be there for me?” “How much can I expect to receive?” “When should I apply for Social Security?” “How can I maximize my benefits?” “Will Social Security be enough for me to live in the future?” Please join TGIF Programs on Friday, March 4 at 10:30 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room.
