Learn how to use the free FamilySearch website (www.familysearch.org) to research your family history. FamilySearch is a nonprofit family history organization dedicated to connecting families across generations and is the largest genealogy organization in the world. Millions of people use FamilySearch records, resources, and services each year to learn more about their family history.

Learn About 3D Printing!

With the holidays going on, our 3D printing orientations have been a little less consistent lately. However, The Evelyn Meador Library is proud to say that that has changed now. We'll be back on schedule with orientations on January 26th and February 9th at 2:00.

These sessions are open to all ages. The orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing in the library, with information on where the county's 3D printers are, how to sign up to use them, how to create 3D projects, and how the printers work. Those completing the class will be able to schedule time on the 3D printer to print your 3D objects.

Help the Library better serve you!

January isn't just a time for people to try to figure out what they can do better. Libraries like to do it too! Help us to better serve you this year by letting us know what your favorite programs of the year were. On our list below are some of our best attended programs of 2018. Let us know what you loved, and if there are other programs we did that you liked, let us know by writing them in! We'll try to take that information to do more of what our community loved as we plan our programs this year.

Keep Your New Year’s Resolution this Year

With the holidays over and 2019 finally here, we’ve all set our New Year’s Resolutions. However, I’m sure at least some of you are worried that this year will be exactly like last year, where halfway through January your goals were already given up. If that is the case, don’t worry. The library is here to help you accomplish those resolutions and have fun during the process. With a variety of events, resources, and opportunities, there’s no goal that we can’t help you with. Here’s just a few of the ways we can help you out:

Adults - Starting Thursday, 1/17/19 @ 7:00 PM - WikiTree Genealogy

Come learn WikiTree Genealogy, a free, collaborative, source/documentation based online single family tree. Whether you are already a seasoned researcher or just interested in starting your family tree research, WikiTree has something for everyone and this class will help you get started and learn how to build and add to your family history using WikiTree.

Supported by the Friends of Freeman Library.

Adults - Mon, 1/7 @ 7:00 PM - Blogging on WordPress.com for Beginners

Have you always wanted to express yourself by writing a blog but don’t know where to begin? Are you in need of a homepage to promote yourself? In this class, we will learn how to create a basic website using WordPress.com. No prior blogging or web design experience is needed.

Join a Book Club!

It is a great time to join one of our book clubs at the Evelyn Meador Library. Now, as I say that, I know what you are thinking. It’s a bit of a busy season. There are presents to wrap, kids to entertain, and relatives to write, and the list goes on. However, after Christmas, things are going to calm down, and you are going to need to find something to do to fill up your time, and a great way to do that is to join one of our book clubs.
