Come Join Us For Mother's Day Story Time!

This Thursday, May 9th at 10:45 am Stratford Library will have a very special story time featuring books about Mom, singing, dancing, and a magnetic puzzle-piece picture frame craft. Kiddos, come on out an paint a gift for your mom. We will take your picture while you create your masterpieces so your present will be complete to take with you. Hope to see you there!

M is for Mother, most Marvelous mother to me
O is for the One and Only good thing that ever happened to me
T is for the Tender love she’s given me since birth
H is for the Heaven that all mothers represent on earth
E is for an Exceptional lady, who else can that be
R is for the Reassuring comfort only mama can bring to me

I was taught this song in my elementary school and I have never forgotten it ever since even though I no longer have a clue that who wrote or sang this song but the words will never cease to warm my heart.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Last Wednesday, the Parker Williams Branch Library held its first Teddy Bear Picnic during Preschool Storytime. Children brought their favorite teddy bear (or other stuffed friend) and enjoyed a teddy bear themed storytime, craft, and a special snack. Books shared at this event included

Toddler Time, Wednesday 10:30 & 11:00

Join us for Toddler Time every Wednesday morning. We have two programs at 10:30 & 11:00 for children 18 months to 3 years old. Tickets for these programs are required for each toddler, tickets are available starting at 10:00 AM at the information desk on Wednesday morning. A craft is also available in the children's area.

It's Good to be Green

Do you know that every year April 22nd is observed as Earth Day? We all love our beautiful planet Earth, don’t we? Yes, yes, yes!!! When we love something this much, we must also make an effort to preserve it and keep it safe. Every little action and every tiny step counts. There are tons of little things we can do to save the Earth. How about turn off the light of a room when we are done with it? Or may be turning the tap off while we are brushing our teeth? Let’s each contribute and make our planet a better place.
And to start with it, join us for Preschool Story time @10:30 AM to read books about Recycling and make a craft with recyclable articles.

Opera to Go!

Come and join us on Wednesday, April 24 at 4 pm for the Houston Grand Opera's perform the Opera to Go! production of Daniel and the Dream Catcher. This program is for all ages so come and enjoy a fabulous performance.

Chihuly Art Preschool Picassos

Picture of two peices of art work by Dave Chihuly. Join us 10:30AM Thursday, April 18th for Chihuly inspired art project. We will have coffee filters and markers for our canvas and painting materials. After the filters are filled in with colors we will spray them down with heavy laundry starch. After they dry you can glue them down to create a beautiful installation. This program is intended for children ages 3 +.

Free Play Thursday 10:30 AM

This Thursday is Free Play! We are going to have different toys for different developmental ages 0-6 for your children to come and explore. You can expect some building block, puppets, and the ever popular sand box among other toys. You are welcome to come in and play anytime from 10:30AM- 11:30AM. We’ll see you there. Want a preview?
