Preschool Storytime: Dinosaurs

Roarrr!!! Join us on Tuesday, May 24th at 10:30 AM for a Preschool Storytime about dinosaurs! We will be singing silly songs, reading awesome dinosaur books, and making a fun craft. Preschool Storytime is for children ages 3-5 years. Remember, you need a free ticket to attend this program, so make sure to grab one from the Information Desk before storytime starts.

Summer Reading Program is Coming to North Channel

Summer ReadingMark your calendars, the 2016 Summer Reading Program will kick off on June 6th, 2016 and run through August 6th.
There is a program for all ages including babies, kids, teens, and adults.

This year there will be prizes when you read or complete 10 activities – any combination works! Read 5 items and do 5 activities, read 7 items and do 3 activities or read a total of 10.

We have many activities scheduled for all ages, so be sure to check the Summer Programs on the online Events Calendar. Some programs require tickets that are available Mondays, the week of the program at the front desk.
Get ready for lots of fun.

Animal Origami - Story Time

Hey kids! Don't miss Story Time on Thursday, May 12th at 3pm. After the story, we will be making simple animal origami in the Jacinto City Library meeting room. Create your own animal from a variety of patterns to take home! Recommended for ages 4 and up. Read to Grow

Teens Reading with Young ChildrenJoin us Wednesday, May 11, at 5:00 pm in the Children's Library for an afterschool storytime for young children.  Read to Grow is a high school club where honors students will help promote language building and literacy for children by reading and sharing favorite stories. No registration is required. Just come and enjoy a good story.

Mother's Day story time during Baby Time

Mother's DayMother's Day is just around the corner on Sunday, May 8, 2016.

To celebrate our moms we will have a special story time on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Baby Time.
Following the stories, babies can make a special card just for their moms out of shredded pieces of construction paper. 

Baby Time is a year round program featuring stories, rhymes, songs, parachute, toys, and bubbles. It is a one on one program for child and parent/caregiver on Thursdays at 10:30 am.

This Week's Storytimes

If you have visited our library in the past few days, you have probably noticed that we are in the process of receiving a new coat of paint. Because of this, our regular Preschool Storytime, Toddler Times, and Infant Storytimes are cancelled the week of May 2nd -6th.

Instead, we will be hosting Family Storytimes for kids of all ages on Wednesday, May 4th, and Thursday, May 5th at 11:15 AM at Clay’s Restaurant. Clay’s Restaurant is located on 17717 Clay Road, and opens at 11 AM. Thank you to Clay's for allowing us to hold our storytimes at their location this week!

We appreciate your understanding, and we hope to see you there!

Preschool Storytime: Dogs

Woof woof! Guau guau! Join us on Tuesday, April 26th at 10:30 AM for a dog themed Preschool Storytime! Our building is receiving a new coat of paint, so we are planning to meet  in the children’s section of the library instead of the meeting room. Preschool Storytime is for children ages 3-5 years.

Baby Time @ North Channel Library

Baby TimeBaby Time is a year round program at North Channel Public Library held on Thursdays at 10:30 am. It is a one to one story time for babies ages 0 - 18 months, and parents/caregivers. We read stories, sing songs and rhymes, and follow with playtime and bubbles.
Other year round programs are on Tuesdays.
Toddler Time is 10:30 am for ages 18 months - 3 years.
Preschool Storytime is at 1:30 pm for ages 3 - 6 years old.

Travelling Naturalist at North Channel Library

Travelling NaturalistDeussen Park's Travelling Naturalist is back again. Ms. Raven will be here Tuesday, April 5, at 1:30 pm, with her final Inside/Outside program. You'll get the chance to see and touch live animals at this Polliwog Club Session.

Following Pre-school Storytime will be Registration for HCPHES Eat, Play, Grow Nutrition and Physical Activity Education Program.

A Very Silly Preschool Storytime

Join us on Tuesday, April 5th at 10:30 AM for a very silly Preschool Storytime! We will be singing silly songs, reading hilarious books, and making a funny craft.
