Preschool Storytime: Spring 2017 Evening Sessions

Starting today, Monday, February 20th, we will be adding a monthly evening Preschool Storytime on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 PM. You will need a free ticket to attend this storytime, which is intended for children ages 3-5 years old. Tickets will be available in the children’s area before the programs start.

The dates for the spring 2017 sessions are: Monday, February 20th; Monday, March 20th; Monday April 17th; and Monday, May 15th. Hope to see you there!

Harlem Renaissance Storytime

JJoin us for our Harlem Renaissance Preschool Storytime next Tuesday, February 21 at 10:30 am in celebration of Black History Month. All kids 3-5 are welcome, but you do need a free ticket to enter. The tickets will be in the children's area when the library opens at 10 am.

Preschool Storytime: Friends

Join us for Preschool Storytime on Tuesday, February 14th at 10:15 AM as we celebrate Valentine’s Day by reading about friendship and making a Valentine’s Day craft. Preschool Storytime is a ticketed program, so please make sure you grab a free ticket from the children’s area before it starts. This program is for children ages 3-5 years old.

Preschool Storytime: Flying

Join us on Tuesday, February 7th at 10:15 AM for a fun-filled Preschool Storytime all about flying. We will be reading stories about airplanes before making and playing with paper airplanes. You need a free ticket to attend Preschool Storytime, so make sure you get one from the children’s area before the program starts. This storytime is geared towards children ages 3-5 years old.

Preschool and Toddler Storytimes

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with friends and family while some of enjoy watching the Super Bowl.  This is just a reminder starting next week all kids will have to have a ticket before attending Preschool Storytime on Tuesday at 10:30 am or Toddler Storytime on Wednesday at 10:30 am.  The tickets will be on a table in the Children's Area starting when we open to pick up.  This is a measure put in place to insure everyone's safety in case of an emergency.  

Houston Author Read Aloud at Fairbanks

On Tuesday, February 7 at 4 pm, we will be hosting a read aloud by Houston author Beatriz Chapa, for 2nd to 4th graders. She will be reading her new book Fruition, which takes place in Houston where four caterpillars take on a perfect adventure.  To sign up your children, please call 713-466-4438. See you there!

Preschool Storytime: All About Me

Join us on Tuesday, January 31st at 10:15 AM for a Preschool Storytime all about being yourself and celebrating the similarities and differences that make each of us special and unique. We will be reading, singing, and making a special craft. This is a ticketed program, so make sure you grab a free ticket from the children’s area before it starts. Preschool Storytime is intended for children ages 3-5 years old.

Stories and Friends

Child craftDr. Martin Luther King, Jr. always said that love was more powerful than hate. In honor of his birthday, which was January 15, the Aldine library’s story times for the month of January are all about friendship. Our English language story times for children 18 months-3 years are every Tuesday at 10:30 am. Our bilingual story times for children 3-6 years old are every Thursday at 10:30 am. Preschool Storytime: Bedtime

ZzzZzz. Please join us on Tuesday, January 24th at 10:15 AM for a bedtime themed Preschool Storytime! We’ll be singing, reading, and making a fun craft. A free ticket is required to attend this program, so please make sure you get your ticket from the children’s area before storytime starts. Preschool Storytime is geared towards children ages 3-5 years old.
