This Week at the Library

Week seven of the Summer Reading Program at the Kingwood Library! This Tuesday we WILL NOT be having our regularly scheduled Toddler Time @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM. Lapsit Storytime is @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday. Preschool Storytime will be @ 11 AM on Wednesday. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 AM where you can enjoy stories and a craft with your whole family! Tickets required upon entry for all storytimes. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

Harris County Animal Shelter Mobile Adoption [8+] - Saturday, July 21st from 11:30-3:30 PM

 

 

Are you looking for your next family member?

The Harris County Animal Shelter will be here with their Mobile Adoption unit and a truck load of dogs.

Come on down to the Parker Williams Branch on July 21st from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM to see if you meet your next fur-baby and rock the adopt!

String Instrument Workshop

Adults, the #KingwoodLibrary has a special treat for you. You are invited join us on Thursday 7/12 at 2 pm in the Meeting Room to learn how to make string instruments & enjoy some music with Master Luthier Geoff Ugent. This is a free event and all are welcome. Refreshments are compliments of F.O.L.K

Family Fun Nights in July

Want to do something fun with your family but you get home late? Don’t fret! The Parker Williams Branch Library has you covered! Join us in the Library Community Room at 7 PM on a variety of Wednesdays throughout the summer so you don’t miss out on the summer fun. 

Wednesday, July 11th at 7 PM – Family Fun Night – Water Safety with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary [5+]
For those who don’t want to rock the boat, we will be having a family water safety presentation by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. 

Teen Game Tournament & String Art

Calling all gamers! Do you have what it takes to finish the fight? A teen Super Smash Bros Tournament will be held on Monday, July 9, at 1:30 PM, in the Teen Game Room. Join the brawl for a chance to win a prize!

Then, on Wednesday, July 11, at 2;00 PM, come by the Teen Room to make your very own String Art Piece. Materials and a variety of templates will be provided, but feel free to bring a print out of your own design.

For teens and tweens entering grades 6-12.

Teens: Do You Have Your Pass to Video Game Jam?


Teens, do you have a pass to one of this summer's hottest gaming parties? All you have to do is complete Level 1 in Teen Summer Reading Program and pick Atascocita as your branch.  When you claim your prize, you will get your permission slip for a night of video games including Live Action Pac-Man and our Switch Mario Kart Tournament!  We have pizza, prizes, and video games!
