puppet theaterSummer is barreling ahead at full steam. Have you registered for the Summer Reading Program? If you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? We have reading programs for all ages – from babies to adults! Register here, start logging your books and activities, and earn prizes!

This Monday, you won’t want to miss the next in our big summer programs: Puppet Pizzazz with puppeteer Greg Ruhe! He will showcase different styles of puppetry from around the world in this fun-filled program. This program is for big kids and small, so grab the whole family and enjoy an afternoon at the library!

Puppet Pizzazz is this coming Monday, June 26 at 3:00pm. Please meet in the Children’s Area, so that we can all walk next door to the Beckendorf Conference Center together.

Happy Birthday, Evelyn Meador Library!

We can hardly believe it! Evelyn Meador Library in Seabrook celebrates its sixth anniversary in our new building this month. We will hold a birthday party to celebrate on Thursday, June 29 from 3 pm until 5 pm. Twenty-nine years old and we look great!

Come to the library to get out of the heat and enjoy conversation over cake and light refreshments. Happy the Clown will entertain and your children will be the stars of the show. The Friends of the Evelyn Meador Library will hold a children’s book sale from 2-5 pm with bargain prices to benefit the library. We also have gaming for tweens and teens at 4 pm.

Programs and services are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliant. Special accommodation can be requested in advance by contacting the library.

Stop by the Barbara Bush Library on Saturday 6/24/17 from 10:30-11:30am and check out the cosplay + Jedi moves of Space City Sabers! All ages welcome!

Teen Button Design - June 26 @ 2:00 PM

Teen button battles are held every month where you pick up  an already made button in support of your fandom. But have you ever wanted to make your own button? Show others what is important to you and learn how to make buttons. Come to the meeting room on Monday, June 26, from 1:30-2:30 PM to design and create your very own unique buttons.

Sandwich Teen ProgramTeam Fidget were the winners of this past Tuesdays Teen Program: Build a Better Sandwich. We had fun creating a different variety of sandwiches and appreciate our special guest parent judges. Teens and Tweens will continue the competition with building structures with jelly beans and toothpicks. Which team will build the structure that can hold the most weight? Come find out today at 4:30 PM in the public meeting room of North Channel Library.

Tomorrow @ 4 PM - Puzzle Me Out - an Adult Jigsaw Puzzle Program!

Come and build some new worlds with Jigsaw Puzzles! This is one of two Jigsaw Puzzle programs for the Adult Summer Reading Program. We will have jigsaw puzzles in various sizes available, along with some puzzle mats for the larger sizes. If you do not finish a puzzle in June, you can do so in July. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come by the meeting room on Monday, June 19, at 1:30 PM, to enjoy the movie October Sky. Discover the story about Homer Hickam, a coal miner’s son who had a dream to build a rocket during the beginning of the space race in the 1950’s. Based on a true story. Enjoy snacks too!
