Basic Life Skills – Situational Awareness November 15th @ 5 PM [12+]

When you leave your house, do you scan your neighborhood?

Can you spot a stranger?

How do you know if they are following you?

These aren’t super spy skills. They are basic principles of situational awareness.

Join us at 5 PM on November 15th in the Library Community Room to learn some basic strategies of keeping situationally aware and safe in the world.

Teen Movie

This Friday, November 10th,  we will be starting a new program at the Katy Library.  We will show a movie for teens or have an afternoon of video gaming every Friday at 3:30pm.   Our first selection will be Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a Warner Brothers Film.  This movie is intended for teens and is rated PG-13.

Kids’ Book Club (ages 7-11), Monday, Nov. 6, 4:00 pm. This month’s book is “One Trick Pony” by Nathan Hale. You can come and hang out, even if you haven’t read the book.
Krafty Korner, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1:00 pm. Adult crafts are back! This week we’re making coasters from wine corks.
Animé Club, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 3:30 pm. Movies, tv, books, games and more!

Everyone - Thursday, 11/2 @ 6 PM - NaNoWriMo Write-In!


November is National Novel Writing Month! In support of NaNoWriMo, the library will host write-ins for aspiring authors. Bring your laptop, journal, or any other writing tools you need to work on your novel!

Introduction to Magic: The Gathering November 10th @ 4-6 PM and November 21st @ 2-4 PM [8+]

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast. It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play. 

Join us on November 10th in the Library Community Room for an introduction to Magic. Learn how to play starting at 4 PM.

Join us on November 21st in the Library Community Room for an introduction to Magic. Learn how to play starting at 2 PM.

For those who know how to play Magic, general gameplay is allowed at any time. A Special Thank You to Strike Zone for their generous donation of Magic: The Gathering cards.

International Observe the Moon Night

Join us on Thursday, November 2nd from 6-7:30pm at the Cypress Creek Christian Church and Community Center for International Observe the Moon Night. 

We will have a guest speaker, and you'll get to learn about the moon. We've also got some hands on activities for you and you'll get a chance to catch up with fellow library patrons and staff!

Spring Branch-Memorial Library Teen Book Club

SteelheartWant to celebrate Halloween in a fun, new way? Join the Spring Branch-Memorial Library Teen Book Club as we discuss the book Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. If you like superheroes, then you’ll love this book!

At our book club meeting, we’ll have pizza and play games. We will also decide on a book club name, so bring your ideas to share. Feel free to wear a costume!

Ages: 12-18 (Grades 6-12)

Anime Club

Our next anime matinee
isn’t very far away.
On November first, at 3pm on that day
we’ll gather to celebrate anime
as we do on every month’s first Wednesday.
