News of the World[For adults & teens] You’re probably not aware of this, but, every October public libraries, school libraries, and college libraries all over southeast Texas participate in an event called “Gulf Coast Reads.” The idea is to get as many people as possible, from Columbus to Beaumont and Willis to Galveston, to read the same book at the same time so that they can talk about it with their families, friends, coworkers, fellow bus riders, fellow elevator passengers, and anyone else.

Robots are coming to High Meadows!

Join us every Wednesday at 4pm in October for some Robotics Fun! We will be creating a new robotics project every week.

Our first robot Kevin (pictured below) can draw all on his own!

Registration isn't required. Join us in our meeting room for tons of Robotics fun!

For more information, please call us at 832.927.5540.

Programs and services are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliant. Special accommodations can be requested in advance by contacting the library.

Banned Books Week – Teen Blackout Poetry September 25th @ 6 PM [13+]

Censorship has long been used by the powerful to limit the knowledge of others around them. It has been used in times of war to suppress any thoughts contrary to the war effort.

In the spirit of Banned Books Week, we are going to use censorship to create art. Join us in the library Teen Area for Blackout Poetry.

Create a poem by blacking out all of the words you don’t want to use in your poem. Censor with us on September 25th at 6 PM.
