Anime Club – My Hero Academia Re-Do (TV-14) October 27th @ 5 PM [14+]

Due to Hurricane Harvey arriving on August 26th, we never got to view My Hero Academia.

Since it is such an awesome series, we are dedicating the time to view it.

Events for Adults

Medicine wagonWe have some great events for adults coming up next week.
Texas Pioneer Life: Wednesday, 10/25, 5:00-6:00 pm. An expert on life in Texas in the 1800s will bring lots of artifacts that you can actually touch! For all ages.
Free Medicare workshop, Saturday, 10/28, 10 am – noon. It’s Open Enrollment time, so this is especially important now. Even if you’re not on Medicare yet, though, if you’re over a certain age, you should start gathering information about it.
Bandana Pumpkin Craft, Saturday, 10/28, 2:00 pm. Get in an autumn mood by making one of these cute little pumpkins. (for adults!)

Halloween Party

On the spookiest day of the year, we at High Meadows are throwing a fun Halloween Party! Join us in our Meeting Room from 3-5pm for some bone chilling games, creepy crafts, and ghoulish treats! 

Come dressed up and ready to party with us on Halloween! 

Don't forget to stop by before then and make your guess for our Candy Corn contest. If you guess right, you can win the jar of candy corn! A winner will be chosen on October 25th.

Basic Life Skills – The Basic Essay October 25th @ 5 PM [12+]

From English class to cover letters, writing is an important skill to have for the rest of your life.

On October 25th at 5 PM, Mr. John will be guiding you through the basic essay.

The basic essay is a tool for school as well as every report for work that you will ever have to write.

Learn how to work in those transitions, hooks, and details in the Parker Williams Branch Community Room.

Weird Science: Play with your Food, Monday, 10/23, 4:00-5:00 pm. Explore the science of doing weird things to your food. For ages 7-11.
Tween/Teen Movie Night, Tuesday, 10/24, 4:30-6:15 pm. Watch the weird, funny adventures of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Pugsley, Cousin It, Lurch, and Thing.

ScribbleBots: Halloween Edition

Here at High Meadows, things are starting to get pretty spooky! Our scribblebot Kevin has a cousin, Kiki the Witch, and she loves to scribble. She's been hearing that our customers want to make scribble bots again and she's come to town to do just that. Join us tomorrow, 10/18/17 at 4pm and learn how to make Kiki the ScribbleBot.

To get us all in the Halloween mood, we here at the Parker Williams Branch are getting ready by watching the recapture of Newt Scamander’s menagerie of fantastic beasts.

For those who are planning to be Newt for Halloween, you’ll be just that much closer to your costume as we are going to make a Bowtrickle to hide behind your lapel.

Join in on the fantastic fun on October 20th at 3:45 PM in the Library Community Room.

Scatterbug Robots

Tomorrow, Wednesday October 11th at 4pm we will be making another robot! This week's robot is a scatterbug. He's sure to scatter around and scare parents! What a perfect robot for Halloween! Registration isn't required. Join us in our meeting room for tons of Robotics fun.

Saturday Morning Cartoons!

Saturdays have always been reserved for staying in your pjs and watching cartoons all morning. Here at High Meadows, we would like to bring that tradition back. 

Join us on Saturday, October 21st from 10am to 12pm for Saturday Morning Cartoons! We will be showing cartoons from the 80s and 90s. All ages are welcome!
