Ollivanders in Diagon Alley has been the place to go for ready made wands for decades.

Lucky for us that you can make your own custom wand right here at the Parker Williams Branch Library on Monday, November 12th at 6:30.

While creating your unique wand, we’ll be watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to refresh or catch up before The Crimes of Grindelwald is released.

Freeman staff will show the audience how to make delicious dishes. After the demo, attendees will be able to enjoy the prepared food.

This free event will require no registration. The refreshments prepared in this event will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library and HEB.

Monday, November 5th from 6-7:30 PM – Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+]

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on the first and third Mondays from 6PM -7:30PM on the Library Floor for a few hours of game play.

For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.

A Special Thank You to Strike Zone for their generous donation of Magic: The Gathering cards.

Teen Events this Week!

On Monday, November 5, at 4:30-5:30 PM, come by the Teen Room to make paracord bracelets. Not only are they fun to make, but they can be donated to first responders. Craft for a Cause!

Then on Thursday, November 8, from 6:15-7:15 PM, Dumbledore's Army meets! Come to the new monthly program that focuses on all things Harry Potter. Each month we solemnly swear to discuss favorite HP books and movies while either crafting, playing games, watching a movie, or anything else we think up relating to the Wizarding World.

We meet in the Room of Requirement (Teen Room).

SAT Practice Test-Saturday, Nov. 10 @ 10:30 AM!

Want to practice before you take the SAT? Join us for a free SAT practice test administered by the Princeton Review on Saturday, November 10, from 10:30 AM-2:30 PM, in the Meeting Room. Registration is required and space is limited.  Please call 832-927-7830 or register online.

Meet the U.S. Army Troops

Scratch Coding for Middle Schoolers

Scratch is a coding language developed by MIT where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. This class is for middle school teens who already know basic Scratch coding. This program will meet on Thursday, November 1, from 4:45-6:00 PM, in the Computer Lab. Registration is required. Please call or register online.

Trick or Treat at the Library

Hey Kids & Teens! 

You're all welcome to trick or treat at the library tomorrow! Just stop by the customer service desk anytime during our open hours (10am-6pm) and we will hand out goodies. We can't wait to see you in your creative costumes!

Teen Taste Test Challenge- Oct.30 @ 4:30

First, can you taste the difference between brand and off brand snacks? Can you decipher the different flavors of cookies or candies?
