Toddler Time

Our Library's Best Friends

Have you enjoyed a program or the services at the library?  Thank the Friends of the Library!  Or better yet, join the Friends of the Library!  So much of what we are able to do here is because of the effort of the Friends of the Bear Creek Library.  Do you use our library, but you’re not sure what programs the Friends benefit?  Click the video to see a small sample of the things we are able to do, thanks to our Friends!

Turtle Transition

Aquatic TurtleOur Turtles are transitioning to a new home the Friday, May 10th. We love Big Mike and Raphael but they have grown too much to keep in the small tank we have here at Northwest.  Our space for tanks is limited at the library so they will be going home with me at the end of this week.

Big Mike is already in his new home and Raphael will be joining him on Friday. I know we'll all miss them at the library but they are more comfortable in a larger environment with more space to swim and move freely.

Be sure to stop in and say goodbye to Raphael before he joins Big Mike in their new home!

Infant Explorers: Bread Painting! Thursday

picture of an infant with paint around his/her mouthJoin us 10:30AM Thursday, March 6th for bread painting.  Babies 0-18 months are welcome to come and explore colors and textures for complete messy sensory exploration. We will be using thick slices of bread as our canvas and different versions of homemade “infant paints.”  This craft is intended as a squishy squeezy experience.  We don’t actually intend for the babies to snack on the bread but we making all the ingredients edible, just in case a few pieces get swallowed.

Happy (almost) New Year!

Even though schools are closed remember that the library is open!  Here at the Maud Marks Branch the only difference in our regular hours is that we close at 5 pm on Monday, December 31 and are closed on New Year's Day.  There are no programs when we're closed but we have plenty going on for the next couple of weeks including family movies at 2 pm on weekdays through Jan 7 and story times for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.  You don't have to have a library card to attend programs or visit the library so feel free to bring your guests too!  Don't forget that we also have a variety of eBooks and eAudio materials that you can check out whether we're open or not; all you need is a library card.
