October is Squirrel Awareness Month and there is a varied and robust Literature of Squirrels Stories as I noted last week. They were squirrel stories set in New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, and specifically in the parks of that borough, with the most frequent setting Central Park.

Super Harvest Moon: September 22, 2010:

According to NAASA, "For the first time in almost 20 years, northern autumn is beginning on the night of a full Moon. The coincidence sets the stage for a "Super Harvest Moon" and a must-see sky show to mark the change of seasons."

Today also marks an important occasion as many Asian cultures will celebrate the end of their harvest as part of their Mooncake Festival. This is sure to be a spectacular night for anyone who takes time to view this rare celestial event.
