Book Sale Time

On Saturday, March 25 the Friends of the Maud Marks Library will be hosting their monthly book sale. From 10 AM - 4 PM there will be a large selection of different books to peruse and purchase. Browse through hardback fiction and nonfiction, children’s books and paperbacks. Most items are $1.00 or less and all of the proceeds benefit the library. We hope to see you there!

Who is in YOUR Family Tree?

Are you related to nobility or black sheep?  Who is in YOUR famiy tree?  The Maud Marks Library want to help you find out.   Every Wednesday from 10-12.  Experts from the database FamilySearch.org will be in our computer lab to show you how its done.  Whether you are a complete novice or have been searching for years, our volunteers will help you find that illusive ancestor hiding among the leaves.  Best of all, not only is it free, no registration is required.  Just walk in and receive one-on-one help.

Power of Attorney and Designation of Guardianship for Senior Adults

  Learn how important it is for senior adults to have a power of attorney and a designation of guardianship in place ahead of time. Experts will be here at the library at 3 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017. Facebook is the world's most popular social networking site. It makes it possible to connect with your family and friends online. On Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 AM, Maud Marks Library will be offering a computer class on Facebook in the computer lab. In this class you will learn how to set up an account and how to get in touch with friends while ensuring your privacy.

National Craft Month

Start spring break with a new craft project! Come discover all the items we have on our National Craft Month display. It's time to  embrace your creative side. Books and videos with step by step instructions and photos will make the process a snap. There is something for everyone. 

 

TeenMakers: Robotics Edition

Are you a teen who's interested in learning more about coding and about robotics? Our TeenMakers this week is your chance. Teens and tweens in 6th grade and up are invited to come explore the world of robotics with LEGO Mindstorms.

This is a ticketed program from 3:30 - 4:40 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Tickets will be available beginning at 3:15 PM. Come have fun and MAKE something.

Calling All Local Artist!

Are you an artist?  Do you want to be? Are you just an art lover?

The Maud Marks Library will be celebrating all local artists during the month of April!  Through out the month, we will be showcasing paintings, drawings, and sculptures from local artists right here in the Katy area.  The entire community is invited to come visit the library to view the artwork and create their own.  We will be hosting art workshops through out the month of April for our Adult DIY workshop, Wednesday Wonders, TeenMaker, and more!  Keep an eye on this place right here for more information as we get closer to the big exibition!
