Color Me Relaxed!

What is the coolest way for adults to relax and have a good time? Coloring! The Maud Marks Library has an adult coloring hour on the 4th Tuesday of every month. Join us on Tuesday, July 25, at 2 PM, as we color, chat, have a snack, and listen to relaxing music. We will provide plenty of pages for coloring and colored pencils, although, you are more than welcome to bring your own.

Join the Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge

Are you a puzzle master? Do you want to earn cool prize? Prove your skills and earn your prize on Saturday, July 22 at 2 PM. The Maud Marks Library is challenging our adults to make puzzles. We will be separating out into teams and each team will be given a table with a puzzle. The first team finished will win a special prize. Join us for food, fun, conversation, and a little bit of competition.

Build a Better World Teen Time

During this Thursday's Teen Time (7/13/17) we'll be building a better world by crafting a toy which will then be donated to an Animal Shelter. It's a fun way to give back to the community and help build a better world. Come make some new friends and make something cool for a shelter animal who's looking for some love. Supplies are limited so registration is required, but you can sign up right here.

eBooks Everywhere!!!

Tired of carrying those heavy library books from place to place? Do you wish that you could just check out books from the convenience of your own home? Well, you are in luck! The Maud Marks Library will be offering an eBooks class this Tuesday, July 11 at 7:00 PM in the computer lab. In this class you will learn what an eBook is and the services the Harris County Public Library offers for them.

Please bring your mobile device and we'll show how to find and download eBooks and/or audio books. Please bring your library card. If you don't have a device you can practice on ours. So come on by this Tuesday to the Maud Marks Library, and become an eBook reader!

There's Lots Going on at the Maud Marks Library

The Maud Marks Library has reopened after the Independence Day holidays and we are in full swing again. We have many things going on for all ages but one thing we would like to highlight is what we have going on for adults this weekend.

At the Maud Marks Library, we like supporting our local businesses.  This month, on Saturday July 8 at 2 PM, S.C.O.R.E. will be here to present a 2-part small business management seminar.  The first part is “Personal Factors and the Art of Management”.  The second part is “Develop the Right Mindset to Change the Outcome of Your Business”.  Come learn management techniques to best help your business succeed.

Friday Movie Time


 Movies and popcorn... sounds like summer!  Join us at the Maud Marks Library on Fridays this summer for family fun-time movies.  This Friday, July 7, 2017, at 1:00 pm, an adventure with Harry Potter begins. We will be showing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  Then on the following Friday, July 14, 2017, also at 1:00 pm, the adventure continues with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  Get out of the heat and join us for a free movie and popcorn. 

The Library Will Be Closed July 4, 2017

In observance of Independence Day Maud Marks Library will be closing at 5 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 and will remain closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. We will return on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 with normal business hours. Our eMedia is always available should you want something to read, listen to or watch.

The Apple iPad!

Do you have a brand new iPad? This Tuesday on June 27th at 1:00 PM, the Maud Smith Marks Library will be offering a computer class on the Apple iPad. Bring your iPad and follow along as we show you how to make the most of your new tablet. Learn how to operate your iPad, explore the built in apps and how to download additional apps, music and more!

Build a Better World Food Drive


Our 2017 Summer Reading Program is in full swing now. Sign up on line or at the library.  Adults, teens, children, and babies can accumulate points for reading and doing fun activities to earn great prizes. In conjunction with the Summer Reading Program's theme the Maud Marks Library is also having a Food Drive to "Build a Better World".  There is a bin in the lobby for donations of non-perishable food items. These donations will benefit families in the Katy area. Thank you for helping to build a better world in our own neighborhood.
