Family Night at North Channel

Para Los NinosJoin us Monday at 6 pm, August 29, for Para Los Ninos, For The Children Family Night. It is a bilingual and interactive program with family activities created by the Children's Museum of Houston. This month our theme is, Raise a Reader. This program is recommended for families with children ages 2-7.

ESL and Citizenship Classes at North Channel Library

ESLThe North Channel Library is now registering students for ESL and Citizenship classes beginning in September. These classes are free and open to students age 18 and up. Interested students must come to the library to register for classes. There are limited spaces available. The North Channel Library is located at 15741 Wallisville Rd. North Channel Book Club

The English Spy by Daniel Silva Assassination. Royals. Gabriel Allon, assassin, spy... legend, will be put to the test as he searches for the person responsible for the death of a beautiful royal. Tapped by British Intelligence, Allon must work with Christopher Keller, former commando turned assassin, to pursue justice. The North Channel Book Club will discuss "The English Spy" by Daniel Silva at 10 am on Wednesday, August 24, in the meeting room.  Join us for the discussion and refreshments.

 

Pokemon Club @NChannel Library!

Calling all Pokemon lovers! Don't miss this Saturday, August 20 from 3 to 4pm  when the Pokemon Club will meet again. This month we'll be making a "Pikachu Headband" ! Ages 6 and up are encouraged to bring their cards, DS gaming devices or other Pokemon supplies to play, trade and show... Free refreshments too!

Faithful Paws at the Library this Saturday

Teens and tweens, you are invited to come to the North Channel Branch and join the Teen Advisory Group.  Make your voices heard on a variety of subjects from decorating the teen area to future programs you would like to see at the library. TAG will be gathering in the meeting room today, Monday, Aug.15th at 4:30 pm.   Participants can earn volunteer hours for any school organization requirements. We will have refreshments.

Ask A Lawyer

lawyerOur popular "Ask A Lawyer" program will be held this Saturday, August 13th from 11 am - 12:30 pm in our Meeting Room.  This free legal clinic is presented by Angela D. Johnson, Attorney at Law.  Ms. Johnson will be answering legal questions and addressing issues that are important to the community.  Please join us for a chance for some free legal guidance.

Teen Board GamesTeens and tweens! All summer long, we have been playing games, making snacks and watching movies. Are we having fun without you?  Now is the time to swing by the North Channel Branch.  Sign in and log your reading and activities for prizes. 

It's the final week of summer programming!  Stop in on  Thursday, Aug. 4th, we will watch a movie and have snacks to celebrate summer reading.  We will meet in the meeting room at 4:30 pm. Don't miss out on the fun. 

For the Pokemon Go Players out there, the North Channel Branch is a Pokestop where you can refuel in the air conditioning.  

Bubble Party at North Channel

Bubble Parties TexasOur end of Summer Celebration will be tons of fun with bubbles everywhere. Join us on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 2:30 pm in the Children's Area of the Library. Bubble Parties Texas will be here with bubbles, music, and other fun activities to make it a time you won't forget. We'll also have some fun treats to share so you won't want to miss out.
