Captain America's Reading Show!

Captain America is visiting North Channel Library this Wednesday, July 29 at 2:30pm! Steve Rogers will be here to talk about reading, his super hero friends and show off some of the coolest technology ever invented like x-ray glasses that can read words inside a closed book and a scientific trick that makes hulk slime! Don't miss the relay game and the wacky brand of comedy and magic that only Incredible Events can provide! For more information or groups please call the library at 281-457-1631. Teen Summer Reading Program

UnmaskTeens and tweens, the summer reading program is beginning to wind down.  Get into the superhero movement while you can. Design your superhero logo or recreate your favorite. We will gather in the meeting room at 4:30 pm, Thursday, July 23.

It's not too late to sign up for the reading program and keep track of your books.  Teens who complete 5 books or 600 minutes of reading will receive a backpack as long as supplies last.  You can sign up here.

Pokemon Club @NChannel Library!

Calling all Pokemon lovers! Don't miss this Saturday, July 25 from 3 to 4:30 pm  when the Pokemon Club will meet again and you can  watch the Pokemon Heroes movie!  Ages 8 to 16 years are encouraged to bring their cards, DS gaming devices or other Pokemon supplies to play and show others. Free refreshments!

Faithful Paws@NChannel Branch!

 Would you like to cuddle up with a good book and a friendly pooch? Then come on down to the Children's Area this Saturday, July 18 from 2-3pm!  The North Channel Branch hosts the Faithful Paws Pet Therapy program every third Saturday all year long.  Well trained and groomed dogs will listen to beginning,struggling, or any interested readers to build their confidence or just have fun... Book Sale This Weekend

Want to be a library superhero? Come shop at the Friends of the North Channel Library Book Sale! The book sale will be this Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11thbook sale during the library's open hours.  All proceeds from the sale go directly to the North Channel Library to fund various library needs, such as summer performers, books and other items.  Don't miss our book sale this weekend!

Crocodile Encounter @N.Channel Library

Are you scared of our "reptilian friends"? Well don't be! Overcome your fears and view live animals such as alligators, crocodiles, turtles, lizards and snakes at North Channel Library this Wednesday, July 8 at 2:30pm! Crocodile Encounter offers the biggest crocodile show in the Houston area and will be right in the Children's Area-no tickets are necessary. The program is recommended for ages and up. Summer is in full swing and that means our Summer Reading Program is full steam ahead.  With programs for babies, children, teens, and adults, the library has something for everyone!  You have until August 8 to record either the number of books you read or the amount of time you spend reading. And don't forget to check out our

faithful pawsIt's time for another visit from our favorite furry friends-Faithful Paws!  Faithful Paws is an organization that brings dogs who love to hear kids read to them!  Help build reading confidence and cuddle a new pal at the same time!  Join Faithful Paws this Saturday, June 20th from 2 pm to 3 pm.

Superhero Summit!

Would you like to unleash your creative side and play too? Then don't miss the Superhero Summit presented by Arts Alive! this Wednesday at 2:30pm. Be prepared to move...this program includes dramatic play and builds lots of superhero skills like communication, self-esteem, body awareness, and hand-eye coordination just to name a few. We'll meet right in the Children's Area and no tickets are required. Recommended for ages 2 to 10 years.
