It's time again for Monday Movie Madness! Join us Monday, September 18 at 4:30pm when we'll watch Boss Baby on our big screen. Don't forget your pillows, blankets, snacks and/or light colored drinks. FRIDAY 1 PM - 6 PM
SATURDAY 10 AM - 5 PM

HCPL Harvey FAQs

I could not return my library materials because I could not reach the library due to high water. Am I still responsible for the late fees? 

If you return your books by September 15, you will not accrue late fees.

Harris County Libraries/North Channel closed

North Channel Branch and all Harris County Libraries will remain ***closed due to inclement weather ***Friday, August 25 thru Monday, August 28. Please check the Harris County Library website at www.hcpl.net, Facebook or Twitter @harriscountypl for further updates concerning library openings. A decision will most likely be made by 4pm on Monday regarding possible reopening on Tuesday, August 29. Fines will not be charged for items due over the weekend. Adjustments will be made when libraries reopen.Please be safe!

Back to School Storytime

Is your backpack ready? Don't miss the bus! Join us for a timely Preschool Storytime this week, on Tuesday, August 22 at 1:30pm, when we'll explore back to school themes including school supplies, school buses, and teachers of course...After storytime, we'll create our own miniature backpacks from a lunch bag! Preschool Storytime is scheduled year round every Tuesday at 1:30pm and is recommended for ages 3-6 years old and their parents or caregivers. MeeTeen Solar Eclipse Viewer Craft

Eclipse viewerTeens and tweens, come learn about solar eclipses and make your own pinhole viewer using everyday materials.  Come to the North Channel Library meeting room on Thursday, August 17th, at 4:30 pm to create your own viewer for Monday's eclipse.

Faithful Paws

Did you know friendly, furry pals will be here at North Channel Library Saturday, August 19 from 2-3pm to listen to you read to them? Faithful Paws of Houston provides trained and well-groomed dogs for a visit here every third Saturday of the month at the same time. Sit and share with them for early literacy encouragement, reading practice, or just for fun! All ages are welcome including teens, adults and seniors. Children's Area. Monday Movie: Smurfs: The Lost Village

View Smurfette and the boys' new adventure to the Forbidden Forest, filled with magical creatures, on Monday, August 14 at 2:30pm. A special map will help them find out the biggest secret in Smurf history, if they can avoid Gargamel that is...This film is rated PG and is 1 hour and 31 min. in length and is recommended for children ages 4 and up. The movie showing will be in the Public Meeting Room.

Toddler Time - Watermelon Fun

Watermelon FunToddler Time is in for a special treat this week. We are going to listen to some fun stories and rhymes about watermelons, and have a small experiment to see a fizzy watermelon. Join us this Tuesday, August 7, 2017 during both Toddler Times for some delicious fun.

Toddler Time is a year round program for children ages 18 months - 3 years old and their caregivers. Free tickets are required and can be picked up at the front desk for either times 10:15 AM or 11:15 AM. Groups, please call in advance 281-457-1631.
