Autism Awareness Celebration

Autism AwarenessNorth Channel will be participating in Autism Awareness Day this afternoon with a celebration. Join us at 4:30 PM, April 2nd, 2018, for a story, craft, and refreshments followed by a balloon release. 

Autism Society defines autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate, and interact with others. ASD is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condition” that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees.

All HCPL locations will close on Thursday, March 29 at 5 PM through Sunday, April 1, 2018.

North Channel will resume regular business hours on Monday, April 2 from 1 PM - 8 PM.

Check the online events calendar for upcoming programs at the library including an Austism Awareness Celebration on Monday at 4:30 PM.

Toddler Time Easter Egg Hunt

easter eggJoin us for a fun, outdoor Easter Egg Hunt after Toddler Time this week.
Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 11 AM bring your baskets and see how many eggs you can find. Toddler Time is recommended for ages 18 months - 3 years old.
In observance of the upcoming Easter Holiday, the library will close early at 5 PM on Thursday, March 29th, and remain closed thru Sunday, April 1st.
We will resume normal business hours on Monday, April 2nd at 1 PM.

** We will also have an Easter Egg Hunt following Baby Time on Thursday, March 29th. Baby Time is recommended for ages 0-18 months.

Para los Ninos/For the Children: How Does It Work?

Join us Wednesday, March 21 at 4:30pm for "How Does It Work?", part of the Para los Ninos/For the Children Series when we'll explore beginning science concepts through exciting activities! Activities are developed by the Children's Museum of Houston and feature bilingual elements on the subjects of balance, sound, magentism, electrical circuits, and more...Famillies attending will receive a free pass to the museum good for at least 4 persons. MeeTeen at North Channel

ODAATHey Teens! Join us for MeeTeen this afternoon at 4:30 PM for a viewing of the Netflix hit show, One Day at a Time.

This series follows the life of a Cuban-American family as they navigate the ups and downs of life. 

Once Upon a Story Time

story timeJoin us this evening on March 19, 2018, at 6:30 PM for Once Upon a Storytime.

We will read fun stories, listen to rhymes, and make a craft at this Family evening program. 
Feel free to come in your pajamas and ready to have some fun.

Tinkering with Tinkercad

tinkercadJoin us March 15, 2018 at 6:00 PM for Tinkering with TINKERCAD. At this program you will learn about making 3D designs to print on a 3D Printer.  After you have created your design, join us back in the Computer Lab on Saturday, March 17 at 2:30 PM for a 3D Printer Orientation. This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services in the library.

Storybook Opera

 Head to the North Channel Library for some Spring Break entertainment! On Wednesday, March 14 at 2:30pm & 3:30pm we will host Bantam of the Opera by Storybook Opera.

smash bros.Join us for a brawling good time at our Wii Game Day this Wednesday, March 7 at 4:30 PM in the Public Meeting Room. 
We will play fun games like Super Smash Bros. and MarioKart on our Wii and big screen. This program is recommended for ages 8-12 years old. mario kart
