Teen Book Trailer @ NC

Teen varietyTeens, you are invited to join North Channel Library's Teen Book Trailer.  

Stop by the library and find out what other teens are reading.  Teens, you are the driving force behind the Book Trailer, where you can able to discuss and share your favorite books, authors and recommendations with your friends.

This week we will meet in the meeting room to discuss our favorite books and enjoy some snacks tomorrow, Saturday, July 22nd, at 2 pm.  

Chicken Big!

Join us for Chicken Big, a special children's costumed musical theater performance based on the picture book by Keith Graves! This is a BIG twist on the classic Chicken Little story...The fun will begin at 2:30pm Wednesday, July 19 in the Children's Area-no tickets are needed. The show is recommended for ages 3-10 years.

Teens: Build a Better Competition

Rice Crispy TreatTeens and Tweens, it's time for another Build a Better Competition. Today your challenge will be Rice Crispies. So grab your teammates, invite your friends and come join us today at 4:30 PM in the Public Meeting Room for a fun, edible challenge. 

On Thursday we will have an Edible Architecture program where you can use candy to build famous structures.

Monday Movie Madness

Hey Lego Fans, and Batman Fans! Today for our Summer Reading Monday Movie Madness we will be watching THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE on our big screen. Don't forget your pillows, blankets, and snacks and join us in the Public Meeting Room at 3 PM. The movie will run for 2 hours and 9 mins. and is rated PG.

Movie Programs are recommended for Children ages 4 and up and require Free Tickets that can be picked up at the front desk of the library. Please call 281-457-1631 for any questions.

Toddler Time Tuesdays @ NC

toddler timeToddler Time on Tuesdays at North Channel Library is a year round ticketed program for Toddlers ages 18 months - 3 years old. There are 2 times at 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM to allow more space for our friends to enjoy their story time. 
Next week, Tuesday, July 11th, Toddler Time will be out on the floor in the Children's Area and therefore we will only have ONE toddler time at 10:30 AM.

A Charmed Affair: Belle

Discover "A Tale as Old as Time" from Beauty and the Beast this Wednesday, June 28 at 2:30pm when Belle from a Charmed Affair visits the North Channel Library!  Hear her story, sing her song, and dance a little too... Join us in the Children's Area-there are no tickets required.  There will be an opportunity at the end of the program for families to take photos with Belle in a special setting with their own cameras in our Public Meeting Room.  Recommended for children ages 0-12 years and their parents/caregivers. Feel free to dress up or wear royal attire!

Build A Better World The Summer Reading Program is rolling along at North Channel!. Teens and tweens, remember to sign in and log your reading and activities this summer!

Coming up this week at North Channel: Giant Games Day and Stained Glass Art

Tuesday, June 27th, we will be playing around with giant game sets.  On Thursday, June 29th, we will be creating our own stained glass art projects with everyday materials. Stop in Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 pm in the meeting room.

Free Lunch for kids 18 and under.
In conjunction with the Houston Food Bank, North Channel serves free lunch on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1-2 PM. Kids don't have to be enrolled in school or a program to get a meal. No ID is required.

Sandwich Teen ProgramTeam Fidget were the winners of this past Tuesdays Teen Program: Build a Better Sandwich. We had fun creating a different variety of sandwiches and appreciate our special guest parent judges. Teens and Tweens will continue the competition with building structures with jelly beans and toothpicks. Which team will build the structure that can hold the most weight? Come find out today at 4:30 PM in the public meeting room of North Channel Library.
