Pokemon Club

Meet and battle other Pokemon gamers & trainers here at North Channel Library on Saturday, September 22 from 3-4pm.  Bring your cards and/or Nintendo DS games for fun and enjoy themed crafts, activities and refreshments too! Pokemon Club meets monthly and is recommended for children ages 6-12 years. No registration is required. We'll be meeting in the Public Meeting Room.

Pokemon is licensed by Pokemon and Nintendo.

Kid's Game Day

Take an after school break with us Wednesday, September 19 at 5pm when we'll play traditional board games. Choose from a variety of games here at the library or bring your own! We'll also have blocks and puzzles available as well. This program is recommended for children ages 4- 12 years. Enjoy free refreshments too!

Monday Movie Madness

See Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, this Monday, September 10 at 4:30 pm at North Channel Branch on our big screen! Greg Heffley's adventures continue on a summer road trip with the family. Will he get to a gaming convention or be stuck at his relatives birthday party? This feature is Rated PG and is 1 hour and 31 min. in length.  Don't forget pillows, blankets, and refreshments...For more information please call the library at 832-927-5550.

Faithful Paws

Did you know friendly, furry pals will be here at North Channel Library Saturday, August 18 from 2-3pm to listen to you read to them? Faithful Paws of Houston provides trained and well-groomed dogs for a visit here every third Saturday of the month at the same time. Sit and share with them for early literacy encouragement, reading practice, or just for fun! All ages are welcome. Children's Area. For more information please call the branch at (832) 927-5550.

Jabberwocky Jake!

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading this Wednesday, August 1 at 3pm in the Children's Area here at North Channel Branch with the DJ comedy stylings of Jabberwocky Jake! This variety show will also feature magic and two lucky young attendees will get the honor of the DJ experience-you could be a guest DJ! Jake's wacky brand of positivity and incredible energy will keep the smile on your face for hours after the show...don't miss it! No tickets required. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Summer Reading Wrap-Up!

It's time to wrap up Summer Reading-log those titles, minutes, program attendance, and reviews! Registration is still open for babies, children, teens and adults through Saturday, August 4. Just click on Summer Reading on our homepage at www.hcpl.net to sign up yourself or your whole family...You can read anything you choose and listening counts too! This year there is an app called beanstack to make logging your books even easier...Also don't forget to check the library calendar for upcoming events for all ages at https://host4.evanced.info/harris/evanced/eventcalendar.asp?libnum=17.

Challenger 7 Memorial Park: Birds!

Meet a wide variety of birds Wednesday, July18 at 3pm & 4pm when the Traveling Naturalist from Challenger 7 Memorial Park presents two programs for kids ages 4 and up. Free tickets are required for the program which will be held in the Public Meeting Room. Tickets are available for pick-up beginning at 10am on the day of the program. Some of the birds you will possibly see include a dove, soncure, and quail. Learn all about them and hear their natural music making abiilities! 

Books Alive @ NC

3 nasty gnarliesJune 27, 2018 at 3 PM, the Books Alive theater group will be putting on a live presentation of the book, Three Nasty Gnarlies by Keith Graves. Kids can take photos with the performers after the show!
Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Program with HCPL. 10 points for every book you read, and prizes at 100 pts, 200 pts, and 300 pts for Babies, Kids, Teens, and Adults. Help us meet our library goal of signing up and completing 1000 customers for the program. 

Magic Show!

You won't believe your eyes on Wednesday, June 20 at 3pm when John O'Bryant's performs spell-binding illusions during his Magic Show! Excitement and comedy combine in this professional show right here at North Channel Branch. This program will be held in the Children's Area and no tickets are required. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
