Gaming – Fortnite Tournament [8+] - Friday, August 3rd at 4 - 6 PM

 

For all those solo and team players, we will be hosting our version of a Fortnite Tournament where the last two players stay on and the other six players rotate off.

This will be happening on Friday, August 3rd from 4 to 6 PM in the computer lab.

If you have USB Xbox One or PS4 controller, you can bring it and hook into our computer as long as it has the USB cord attached (or USB wireless charging cord). 

Teen Thursday – Uno Smackdown Tournament [12+] - Thursday, August 2nd at 3 PM

 

 

 

Thursdays at the Parker Williams Branch Library will be hosting a variety of different programs and projects for teens 12 and up at 3 PM in the Library Community Room.

For the final week, we will be having an Uno Smackdown Tournament where the last player standing wins their own Uno deck.

Program Summer – Houston Food Bank [5+] - Wednesday, August 1st at 2:30 PM

 

Every Wednesday in the Library Community Room at 2:30 PM throughout the summer, the Parker Williams Branch Library will be having a special guest put together either a fun show or an amazing learning experience.

Join us this week for The Houston Food Bank.

Not only does the Houston Food Bank distribute food to different communities throughout Houston and Harris County, it also sends out educators to our communities as well.

This week will be focusing on fun games and activities that get you and your kids moving. 

Family Storytime – Texans Recovering Together [5+] - Monday, July 30th at 7 PM

 

 

 

The Harris Center, a mental health organization, will be presenting a Family Storytime at the Parker Williams Branch Library that will be addressing the stress and worry that come with storms and hurricanes.

HC Animal Shelter Adoption Postponed Due to Heat

Due to the extreme heat and issued heat advisory for our area, the Harris County Animal Adoption event sponsored at the Parker Williams Library this July 21st from 11 AM to 2 PM has been postponed. 

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, asphalt in direct sun at 77 degrees is roughly 125 degrees. At 125 degrees, skin, including paws, can be damaged within 60 seconds. Please be wary when walking your furry friends today.

Gaming—Xbox Halo Tournament (T) [13+] - Friday, July 27th from 3 PM – 5 PM
