Master Gardeners present: How to grow orchids

Orchids are beautiful, fragrant, have long-lasting blooms, and make excellent indoor plants. They are also easy to grow. Learn what to do and also how to avoid some common gardening mistakes. This event, presented by Harris County Master Gardener Elizabeth Fisher, takes place on Saturday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m.

Read Across America – Christmas in March with Dr. Seuss [6+] - Friday, March 2 at 5 PM

 

Read Across America is a literacy holiday that celebrates the life and work of Dr. Seuss by taking out some time in the day to read to our youth.

 

Join us in the Library Community Room on March 2nd at 5 PM to celebrate Christmas in March.

 

There will be a retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and some activities to match.

One of the greatest fears most people have is public speaking.

One way to ease that fear is to have a spot-on presentation to back them up.

Join Mr. John in the Computer Lab on February 28th at 5 PM for a basic introduction into the world of Powerpoint.

Franklin Carter Smith of the Clayton Center for Genealogical Research in Houston will provide helpful strategies and resources for African Americans who are researching post civil war ancestors. Learn more about the Clayton Center as well as some tips for researching your family history that only an expert can provide. Join us Tuesday, February 20, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
