There is still time to sign up for this class! Do you want to use eBay to find deals? We will learn how to make an account, search/filter items and buy from eBay in this fun mini session!

WANTED! Book Donations!

Do you have bookshelves full of new or gently-used paperbacks, hardbacks, VHS movies or magazines and do not know what to do with them?  The Friends of the South Houston Library will gladly accept your donations!  For questions or more information please call the branch at 713-941-2385.  All proceeds from donations benefit future library programs at the South Houston Library.

5th Annual Halloween Party

Put on your Halloween costume and join us Monday, October 24, 2016 from 5-6 pm for our 5th Annual FREE Halloween Party! The library will be hosting a fun-filled party that will include games, face painting, photo booth, crafts and more!  The Friends of the South Houston Library will have some yummy treats for sale, all proceeds benefit future library programs.  For more information please call the branch at 713-941-2385.  Program is recommended for children ages 12 & under. 

Teen Halloween Bag

Join us on Wednesday,October 12, 2016 from 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm for some coloring fun. You can create your very own trick or treat bag for Halloween. All materials will be supplied by the Friends of the South Houston Library.  Craft is recommended for Teens ages 12 - 17. For more information please call the branch at 713-941-2385.

Computacion Basica- Dos Dias!

En el mes de octubre habra dos oportunidades para empezar el curso gratis de computacion que ofrecemos en la Biblioteca de South Houston. Las Clases se imparten en espanol y son diseñadas para principiantes. Clases empiezan Jueves Octubre 6 a las 10:30, o Sabado Octubre 8 a las 10:30.

Free Microsoft Word Basics Class!

 It's back to learning time at the South Houston Library! Microsoft Word Basics starts Monday September 12, 2016 at 5:00 pm. In this class we will learn the basics of Microsoft Word to create original documents. We'll start with formatting then move up to making fun personalized flyers.

Spicy Tamale Art

Join us on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 4-5 pm for a great story,  "Growing Up With Tamales, Los Tamales de Ana" by Gwendolyn Zepeda in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Afterwards, we will be using spices and water colors on a corn husk leaf canvas to create great smelling masterpieces.
