Spring Branch Memorial Library--The Page Turners

Page TurnersTime of meeting: July 13, 6:30 pm.  The Page Turners will be having a Readers’ Choice, during which they will give a 5-minute synopsis of a chosen title for the group to consider as a selection for the coming year.  

They invite everyone to come to the meeting to suggest a title for their consideration.

Country Club: China

Join our Country Club and each month we will "visit" a different country to taste the food, play the games, explore the language and culture. In celebration of Asian Paciifc Heritage Month, we will stamp our passports in China!

It is important that our bodies move for at least 30 minutes each day!

It’s even better when working out is FUN! Wear your workout clothes, lace up your sneakers, bring your water and join the fun including:

 

*15 minutes warm-up
*30 minutes work out
*15 minutes cool-down with story and healthy snack

Do you like to build things and know how they work? We will be making working flashlights using household items and LED lights with our friends from Idea Lab Kids.

Meet Author Dave Roman

Dave RomanHave you ever wondered what it takes to write and draw books? On Thursday, May 4, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., our library will welcome Dave Roman, author and illustrator of the Astronaut Academy series for a program and book signing.  If you would like an authographed copy, bring your own Astronaut Academy book or purchase one at the library that day.

The program is recommended for grades 2 and up.

Free Comic Book Day

WowSave the date!  On Saturday, May 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we will be hosting a comic book day.

The schedule of events is as follows:

1:15 p.m. -- Costume Parade

1:45 p.m. -- Trivia Contest

2:30 p.m. -- Superhero Games and Crafts

3:30 p.m. -- Superhero Screening and Popcorn

All Day: Games and Free Comic Books (Limited number per person; while supplies last)

Comic book fans of all ages are invited!
