Tournament of Books Teen Competition: Will you be LSC-Tomball Library's Winning Team?

Tournament of Books LogoCalling all teens! Do you want a chance to win a free Kindle Fire or an Amazon gift card? Do you want to read more, spend more time with friends, and enjoy friendly competition in 2018? The Tournament of Books program is a perfect way to meet all of these goals.
Lone Star College Tomball Community Library is one of the 12 locations hosting this FREE program. Gather up three friends, read 15 books among you, come to monthly book parties, and compete for a chance to become Harris County’s Tournament of Books championship team!


  The Library will close today at 5pm and remain closed through the New Year!  We will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd at 8amHAPPY NEW YEAR to our Tomball Community and patrons.  We look forward to the start of 2018 and sharing with you another year of awesome programming, activities and [of course] great books!

LSC - Tomball Community Library Closes at 8PM, December 27 & 28

The library will close an hour early on December 27 & 28, and close at 5PM on Friday, December 29. We will be closed Saturday, December 30 - January 1.

Happy Holidays!

   Happy Holidays to our wonderful Tomball Community and customers from the entire Library staff!  The Library will close this Friday, December 22nd at 5pm and remain closed through Tuesday, December 26th.  We will re-open on Wednesday, December 27th at 8am.

Art Explorers!

 This coming Tuesday, December 12th, at 5pm, children ages 8 - 12 can come to Art Explorers, learn about Mosaics and create a Winter scene.  Please cal 832-559-4235 to register!

Ornament Making Program for Kids!

  Hey Kids!  Come to the Children's Area on Monday, December 11th at 5 pm and make ornaments for your tree or to give as gifts!  All supplies will be provided for each participant to make 4 ornaments!  This program is for children ages 7 - 12Call 832-559-4235 to hold your spot for this fun, holiday activity!

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Celebration!

 All Wizards (and Muggles) are summoned to the Great Hall of the Library (L129) on Saturday, December 2nd from 1 – 3pm to celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter!  Come dressed as your favorite HP character and get sorted into your house, play table Quidditch, make a potion, an ornament, a bookmark and enjoy games, snacks and fun!  Don’t forget to stop at Kings Cross and take your picture on Platform 9 3/4!  All ages welcome.  See you then!

Registration Now Open for Playbots Coding Clubs!

Playbots graphic with EV1 RobotRegistration is now open for Harris County Public Library's Playbots Coding Clubs. In these eight week courses, youth ages 11-14 will create short videos about their communities starring Lego Mindstorm robots that they will build and code. In the final week, participating branches will host special viewing parties where family and friends will screen the finished projects. Viewing parties will be held on Monday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m. 

By registering for the first class, you will secure a spot for the entire 8-week course. Because space is very limited, we ask that participants commit to attending all eight weeks.

Library Hours this Thanksgiving Holiday


Thanksgiving, arguably the biggest holiday meal of the year, is almost upon us. In observance of the holiday, the Tomball Library will be closed Wednesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 26. The library will reopen for business on Monday, November 27 at 8:00 am.

However you might be celebrating, we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving, and extend gratitude to all our wonderful library customers.

Help Support the Library!

Everyone shops at one time or another throughout the year, and even more so at this time of year with Thanksgiving, and the December holidays approaching.  Our wonderful Friends group has made it possible for you to shop and help the library at the same time - a win/win situation!  It is so easy to do  and costs nothing except the time to set it up.  There are 2 programs, Amazon and Kroger that will give a portion/percentage of each purchase back to the Library.  The funds collected and raised by our Friends group goes directly to programming and special events that are held at the library througout the year.  Please take a minute to register for one or both of these programsOn behalf of the entire staff and Friends group, we thank you and greatly appreciate your support!
