A Pot O' Gold

Next Month let’s have fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at the Adult DIY class.  We will be making lovely luminaires.  They kind of reminded me of little pots of gold.  They look so nice lit up in the dark.   Maybe we can fool a leprechaun!  Because of Spring Break the meeting room will be used for other programs so we will have to change our meeting day.  The date will be the third Tuesday, March 17th,   instead of the second Tuesday.  The time is the same, 2pm – 4pm.  Be sure to register here or call the library at 281-492-8592.  Class size will be strictly limited to 10 adults this time because of supplies.  Come and have a fun St. Patrick’s Day with us!  Hope to see you there!

Quill Skill

January is here and it’s time to spruce up the house for the new year.  I have just the thing to help you!  Next Tuesday, January 13th, from 2 – 4pm at the DIY Adult Craft we will be quilling our initials.  Don’t worry if you have never quilled before because it is really very easy and with just a little patience you will create a beautiful picture for your home!  You must register here or call the library at 281-492-8592 and let me know if you want to quill your first initial or your last initial so I can have it ready for you.  Everything is provided except the frame. We always have a wonderful time, so come and join us this month!  Hope to see you there!

Don't Throw That Away!!

Bits of ribbon, scraps of paper, little Christmas baubles.  All those left over wrapping things that we stuffed into the bottom of our wrapping stash.  Don't throw them away this year!  Come to the Adult DIY Craft class Tuesday, December 9 from 2 pm to 4 pm and we will show you how to use them to wrap lovely Christmas gifts that will look fabulous under any tree!  Bring them along with either a package to wrap or just an empty box to "practice" with.  You will have to register here or call the library at 281-492-8592 because class size is limited.  We always have a great time, so come and have fun with us!

Fall is in the Air!

There are so many nice things about fall in Houston!  The cooler weather, the trees changing color, family and friends for the holidays!   And it's time to think about getting our homes ready for the season too.  To help you do just that, Tuesday, November 11th at 2 pm - 4 pm here at Maud Marks we will be making beautiful Fall colored Dahlia Wreaths to decorate your wall!  Everything is provided so register here to take advantage of this fun, colorful and useful craft!  See you there!

The Future is Here!

Have you seen one of the new 3-D Printers?  Harris County has just acquired one and we here at Maud Marks will have an opportunity to see it in action!  At the Adult DIY Craft Tuesday, October 14th at 2:00 pm we will witness a 3-D pumpkin being made.  Everyone will get to decorate their own 3-D pumpkin and make a pretty fall display to show it off.  Come and be on the cutting edge of technology and make a nice fall arrangement for your home.  The class is very limited so be sure to sign up here right away or call the library at 281-492-8592.  Hope to see you there!

Bring 'Em & Bling 'Em!

Summer is upon us and we can't be seen in just any ol' thing!  Bring a plain pair of flip flops to Maud Marks Library Meeting Room Tuesday, July 8th from 2 pm to 4 pm and we will "bling them out"! Of course we need a lovely sun hat to go with them!

The Gift Everyone can Use

Do you know people who are hard or impossible to buy for?  Maybe they have everything! Maybe you don't know them that well.  Maybe you don't know their tastes.  Well, there is one gift that everyone can use. Money.  It is the perfect gift when you don't know what to give.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a special way to give money.

Beautiful Eggs

I know it's still March, but I'm already thinking about Easter.  I'm all excited about making these beautiful Ukrainian Easter Eggs!  They are very labor intensive but well worth the effort.  Tuesday, April 8th from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm we will be learning how to make these wonderful eggs!  Notice the extended meeting time.  We will need extra time to finish these eggs.  I will provide whole, raw eggs, and everything else you need.  You are welcome to bring a blown out egg to decorate if you are uncomfortable about keeping a raw egg.  I assure you it is safe and will dry out in the shell and will not stink!  Space is limited so you will have to sign up here
