GED & ESL Distance Learning Programs @ HCPL

Harris County Public Library is partnering with Harris County Department of Education, Adult Education to present free distance learning programs for area residents who want to learn English or pursue their GED. English as a Second Language registration and orientation will be held at Parker Williams Branch Library and GED registration and orientation at North Channel Branch Library.

Distance education programs allow you to learn at your own pace and to work on any computer with an internet connection.

Job Training Fair

Need job training for a new career?  San Jacinto College Continuing & Professional Development is hosting an information session regarding the scholarship opportunities available to qualified individuals through the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) and other financial aid programs for their job training programs. 

Adult Education Workshop: Social Security and Estate Planning

Join us in the Atascocita Branch Library meeting room, November 1 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm, to learn more about Social Security options and benefits plus estate planning basics.  Topics include "When should I start benefits to maximize distributions?" and "What changes to Social Security benefits are legislators considering in the future?"  Presented by John Taphorn of Merrill Lynch and Deborah Currin, Attorney.
