F.O.A.L Book Sale, August 12 and 13

This weekend, drop by for the Friends of the Atascocita Library (FOAL) book sale.

There is an exclusive sale for FOAL members on Friday, August 12 from 5-7 pm.

F.O.A.L memberships are available at the door;  it cost $5.00 for individuals, $10.00 for families and $25.00 for businesses to become a member.

The sale is open to the public on Saturday, August 13th at 10am; special accommodations are made from 9 AM to 10 AM for persons with disabilities.
Most items in the book sale are priced .50 to $1.00; so, it may surprise you that the money raised by F.O.A.L is responsible for fully funding the majority of library programs. Volunteers have been working hard to fill the entire meeting room with books for children, teens and adults; I peeked into the room this morning and there are some really wonderful deals! I hope that you are able to stop by the library to discover a few special treasures at the book sale. However, please be aware that monetary donations are also welcome.

Ho'olu komo la kaua ( Please Join Us) for a Hawaiian Lū'au. Registration Is Now Open.

Do you know that the month of May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month? To celebrate, we are having a Hawaiian Luau for children, ages 3 to 12 years old, and their families.  This is a free program, and it will include a puppet show that is loosely based on the Hawaiian folk-tale, * "Battle of the Owls."

Let the Fun Continue!

The end of the Summer Reading Program is near; don't forget to log your books and pick up the great prizes that you have earned!  The last day to log your reading is on Saturday: August 10th.

Thursday, August 15th @ 10:00 am

I want to thank everyone who has participated in our reading program this summer.  It has been so wonderful to see all of our friends and to assist you with finding books. However, the fun doesn't stop there because we have great programs for children of all ages throughout the year.
