LSC-Tomball Community Library presents Buffalo Soldiers

This 100th anniversary year of the beginning of World War 1, travel back in time through this historical presentation to World War I France and learn what happened to the African-American soldiers who made up the 92nd and 93rd infantries and were known, as those who served before and after them, as Buffalo Soldiers.

Black History Month Displays @ Freeman

February is Black History Month, and here at Freeman we’re lucky enough to benefit from the work of the Gulf Coast Apollo Chapter of Links, Inc. who have created a wonderful display for our lobby entitled “Buffalo Soldiers, An American Legacy”.  Be sure to check it out on your way in or out of the library.

Come up to the 2nd floor and check out the "Faces of Harris County" display which showcases well known African Americans with ties to the Houston area.  We encourage you to add your own bio or that of somebody you’d like to honor to the display.  You’ll also find a list of resources that focus on African American history and genealogy.
