US Census Questionnaire Assistance

Have you received your US Census Form?  Do you know what to do with the form?  Did you lose it and need another one? Do you need just plain everyday help to complete the form?  I am sure that these are just some of the questions that our residents are thinking about.  The Galena Park Branch is proud to be hosting a representative from the US Census Bureau.  They are located in the main lobby of the branch.  They are here to help in completing the census form or you can sit right there with them and they can assist you.  The form is simple to complete and confidential.  An accurate census is extremely important to Galena Park and the surrounding areas. You can visit the branch and leave your census form with our representative.  Let's keep him busy.  Be Proud!  Stand up and be counted!

Filling out and returning your confidential Census form is safe--and will help to ensure that we receive the monies we need for critical community services. It's in our hands: Be Counted!!

Be Counted for Harris County

It's time, again, for the American population to be counted.  If you do your part and fill out your census form, you're not only helping create an accurate historical record, you're helping your community to get a fair share of federal funding for transportation, future housing needs, critical programs for youth and seniors, and planning for future disasters.  An accurate count will also serve as a guide for school district boundaries, job training centers, child-care and community centers and libraries. The ten question forms have gone out, they take about ten minutes to fill out, and they help Harris County garner ten times the return in federal funding.  Census answers are used solely to provide statistical data, they're private and can't be used against you in any way.  For more information, visit the official Harris County census site or the census bureau site.

So, please take a few minutes to be counted and let's find the power in numbers!

Stand Up and Be Counted - Census 2010

Did you know the 2010 Census starts mailing forms to all residences in March? The census counts the population of the US and is used to determine how over $400 billion dollars in federal funds are distributed. Several of our county library branches will be information and counting centers for the 2010 Census. It is a quick 10-question form, but the impact is long lasting. Just ask anyone that uses the past US Censuses for family genealogy research.
