Trick or Treats @ the Library

Trick or TreatersJoin us for a very special story time just in time for Halloween!  We'll read Halloween stories and then go trick-or-treating in the library!  Light refreshments will be served afterwards.  All the fun will take place Tuesday, October 27 at 10:30am.

Bluebonnet Book Club!

If you are a homeschooler in grades 3-5 and love to read, this is the club for you! The Bluebonnet Book Club meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 1:30 pm!  Enjoy lively book discussion, related activities and a craft!  Featured books are available at the children's reference desk for check out for those that are registered and books must be completely read prior to attending each session.  Call 832-559-4235 to register!  *one registration is good through January 25th!

Bird Man Cometh

Sonny the Bird Man brings his exotic bird show to the Library this Monday at 1:30 and 3PM.  Look for the bicycle riding bird and other cool acts.  For school age kids.  Pick up your free ticket anytime after 1PM Monday, July 13.  See you there!

May Events in the Children's Department

Join us in May for some fun programs in the Children's Department.   We will finish up the last three Monday Maker programs (Mondays May 4, 11 & 18)  at 4:30 pm.  This afterschool program is for children 5-12 years old.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program.  This program will be on hiatus during our summer schedule starting in June.

April Programs in the Children's Department

    Join us in the Children's Department for fun and educational programs in April.  For babies, toddlers and preschoolers, we have our regular storytimes.  Babies (infants to 18 months old) have Book Babies on Wednesdays at 10:15 & 11:15 AM; Toddlers (18 months to 3 years old) have Toddler Time on Mondays at 11:15 and Tuesdays at 10:15 & 11:15 AM; and Preschoolers (3-5 years old) have Preschool Storytime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:30 pm.  Each of these programs requires tickets.  They are free and given out 30 minutes before the program except for programs beginning at 10:15 am (those tickets are given out as soon as we open at 10:00 am).

February Programs for Children @ Freeman Library

February is the shortest month, but we won't be short of events to celebrate this month in the Children's Department.   Here are our special programs this month:

Thursday, February 13 @ 4:30 pm - Black History Month  - celebrate Black History Month with a fun weaving craft inspired by the colorful Kente cloth of Africa, music, a short movie, and a treat.  This program requires tickets.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.
