High Meadows Branch Library is here to offer help with becoming a citizen.

  • Citizenship Classes: Tuesday and Wednesday @10a.m.
  • ESL English as a Second Language: Tuesday and Thursday @11a.m.

We also offer materials (books, CDs, DVDs) to check out for additional help.

Friday ESL & Citizenship Class

Today is Friday, Feb 1st and Baldwin Boettcher Library will have ESL at 1 pm in the Mercer Botanic Center.  The address there is 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  The class will be taught by Teresa Allen.  It is a fee service to the community members that would like to improve their English skills.  No registration is necessary.  Then at 3:30 pm we will have a new session of Citizenship Classes with our beloved Cindy Groover.  It takes place at the same location.  It is also a free service, but registration is needed to participate in this class.  Please, go to our website at hcpl.net, and click on the Baldwin Boettcher location, then click on events calendar.  Then you simply click on that class and you will be prompted to register.  For more information on th

Thursday and Friday at The Little Blue Library

Thursday we had our teen/tweens program at 3:30 pm under the Tree House.  We have been celebrating Harry Potter all month, and this Thursday was part 4 with “Stop Motion Animation”- Magic.  We tested our creativity and mad picture taking skills and had a great time.  Friday we had our ESL class with Teresa Allen in the Mercer Botanic Center at 1 pm.  It is located at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For more information on the location, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.   Then at 3:30 we had our Citizenship Class.

ESL Registration

The Katy Branch Library will begin accepting applications for our spring ESL and Citizenship classes this Saturday, December 1st.  The applications are available at the front desk at the library.  Anyone interested in ESL must register to take a placement test, which will be held  January 9, 2019 and January 10, 2019.   There is no required test for Citizenship class.    All classes are free and will start the week of January 21, 2019.

Friday at Baldwin Boettcher’s Little Blue Library


Friday, we have our ESL class with Teresa Allen at 1 pm. It takes place in the Mercer Botanic Center at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  Then at 3 pm we have our Citizenship Class with Cindy at the same location.  The Citizenship class if full at this time.  For more information on directions to the Mercer Botanic Center, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.

This Week @ The Little Blue Library

This week at The Little Blue Library, we have a lot in store for you.  On Monday, Sept 17, we will have Storytime in the Gardens.  The subject this week will be “weather”.  On Monday evening @ 6 pm, we will have ESL with our beloved Cindy.  It will take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For more information on the location, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.   It is a level 1 class and free.   No registration is necessary.  On Wednesday, Sept 19, we will have Spin-a-Yarn @ 11 am.  If you like to knit, crochet, sew, craft, or chat, then this is the group for you!  It will also take place at The Mercer Botanic Center on 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  For
