Clear Lake Theatre Time Capsule

If you lived in Clear Lake in 1966, you may remember the burial of a time capsule at the grand-opening of the Clear Lake Theatre, not far from the library on El Camino Real (now Shanghai Tokyo restaurant).  If you remember that day (and even if you don't!), we are happy to say that the day of it's opening is upon us!  On April 20th of this year, the time capsule is planned for removal, and the best part is that the contents are to be given for permanent display to Freeman Library!  We admit we do not know what to expect once it's opened and are hoping that the concrete vault did its job of keeping the elements at bay and preserved the contents.  In any case, it isn't everyday that a community gets to open a time capsule.  We hope you'll join us when the day arrives!  We will share more information as it becomes available.  In the meantime, you can take a look here at information available about the time capsule, kept by University of Houston at Clear Lake.
