Celebrate Earth Day with Recycled Crafts!

The Children's Department will be celebrating Earth Day on Monday, April 22 at 4:30 pm with some fun crafts made from recycled materials: egg cartons, stickers, beads and lots of other items.  Children ages 5 and above are encouraged to come and let their imagination lead them in making fun items.

Tickets are required.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Fire Truck Visits Freeman on Friday, April 12 @ 10:00 am

Kids of all ages are invited to see firefighters and a fire engine from the Houston Fire Department's Station No.  72 on Friday, April 12 at 10:00 am.   The firefighters will show off the fire truck and let children see how it works.

No tickets are required for this program.  The fire truck and firefighters will be on the Diana Lane side of the library.

To learn a bit more about fire safety, step inside the library into the Children's Department.  We have a display of books about firefighters.  Also, the firefighters from Station No. 72 have brought a fun display of fire trucks and firefighter equipment that we have put up behind the Kids Information Desk.  Please stop by and take a look at it.
