Together, We Will: How We Can Help, How You Can Help

The rains had not yet stopped before many of you began offering Harris County Public Library your help and support. We were not surprised; we know you. Still, we cannot adequately express our gratitude for your generosity.

When the scope of the damage became apparent, many of you told us how your library has been a constant in your lives and in your children’s lives—a source of pleasure and growth, as well as a refuge. We know that when you saw the damage and heard that your library will be closed indefinitely, it was not unlike losing someone close to you. We want to assure you that Harris County Public Library intends to bring back all of our libraries better than ever. We also want you to know that 22 out of 26 of our branches will return to normal operating hours starting Monday, September 11.  We are ready to help you, and Harris County as whole, rebuild.

LSC-CyFair Library Hours, September 5-10

Hello,

We hope that you are safe and doing well in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. While the library at CyFair did not sustain any damage during the storm, the library staff has been overwhelmed processing returned books and preparing for the college’s fall semester.

To give library staff time to re-shelve and get the library up and running, the library will have a modified schedule this week:

Library Hours: September 5-10, 2017
• Tuesday, September 5, 10:00am - 6:00pm
• Wednesday-Saturday, September 6-9, 8:00am - 6:00pm
• Sunday, September 10, 1:00pm - 6:00pm

The library will return to regular hours on Monday, September 11.

UPDATE: West University Branch Renovations

The holidays and severe weather across the country have delayed construction materials needed to complete safety and ADA compliance renovations at West University Branch Library. The City of West University Place is still optimistic that the library will reopen this spring.

Until then, you can continue to return HCPL materials and pick up holds at Bellaire City Library, or any other HCPL location.
