Alicia Mitchell exhibiting in Room L-129

Alicia Mitchell is back with more of her prolific collection of expressive paintings and collages. If you happen to be in the library this month, check out our meeting room--Room L-129--for this El Paso native's exciting work.

Malvine Wolf and Debra Hayden exhibiting in Room L-129 in June

Malvine Wolf’s precision mixed media pieces are a must-see in our meeting room this month. Malvine began working in watercolor and somewhere along the line her passionate need to explore sent her into working in collage, various water media, and sumi inks. In one piece she has written text; in another, braille is the compelling feature.

Family Storytime and Craft: Monday, August 30th

Following our storytime program, children will have an opportunity to create a collage that will include the child's name or a special word. Keeping with our "green" theme we will be using recycled cardboard and baby food lids as part of our collage.
Storytime starts at 7:00 pm, and everyone is welcome.

Below are the words for the Cool Bear Hunt Song by Dr. JeanThis song is truely a favorite of the children who attend storytime.  I have also included a link, so you may oder the cd if you would like. This is a great song to help children learn directionality concepts (under, over around, etc...) and in turn, promotes visual perceptual skills needed to learn how to read and write.

Order the CD:  Dr. Jean sings silly songs
We also sing the "Hokey Pokey" song for the same reason.
