Help Wanted!

We live in such a great community.  Katy gives to those in need with all their heart.  Our annual food drive is such a success and we always have plenty of volunteers to keep our library running.  Did you know there was even more you could do to make the Katy community an incredible place to live?

Right now, the Maud Marks Library needs ESL tutors.  We need people willing to teach adults English on a volunteer basis once a week for at least 9 months.  You don't need to be able to speak another language to teach ESL, in fact, we would prefer if you didn't!  All you need is a willingness to help new immigrants become acclimated with the American way of life.

We will be hosting a tutor training session on Saturday, March 19 at 9 AM.  There is no charge for the session or the training materials.  We'll even feed you lunch!

Enjoy a TAB today!

Are you a teen who likes to make a difference? Would you like to earn community service hours while helping to make the library a better and more fun place for teens? Join our Teen Advisory Board! Our TAB will be meeting monthly to improve our teen programs and help our community. We will be having a meeting today, but if you miss it, check out our events calendar for the next one, or ask our great YA Librarian Jennifer Finch!

Volunteer -- Make a Difference!

Volunteering at your library!

Did you know that in the month of June, volunteers at Bear Creek Library worked a combined 922 hours?  Wow!  So many great things happen at our library because of our amazing volunteers.  We are always looking for new volunteers.

If you would like to volunteer at the library, you can print out our application or come in to the library and ask for one at the reference desk.  You will need to attend a volunteer orientation.  You can find the date and time of any volunteer orientation on our events calendar.  The next volunteer orientation will be Tuesday, August 11th at 5:00 PM.
