Our Network will be DOWN Friday, October 21st

Please consider this advance notice that on Friday, October 21st, our Network Services will be doing an upgrade that requires the public library network at our branch to be out of service for a good part of that day.

Since our library shares its home with the LoneStar College Tomball library, people may ask if the college network will be in service during that time. The answer is, "Yes!" If you are 18 years of age or over and have a current HCPL adult library card in good standing, you can have its number authenticated in the college's network so you can use their computers. You'll have to go to the Customer Service desk on either the first or second floor or the Academic Librarians' reference desk on the second floor to get that authentication.

And of course, other libraries in the area--Northwest or Barbara Bush, or in the Montgomery County Memorial Public Library system, Malcolm Purvis Library in Magnolia, will have operational computers for your use.

We apologize for this inconvenience and hope you have sufficient notice to make other plans.

This Thursday--Learn how to use your Device for eBooks!

Have a digital device? Come learn how to check out library eBooks and eAudiobooks to your device, including Kindles, Nooks, iPads, Android devices, smartphones, and computers. The beginning of the class explains the library’s Digital Media Catalog and the second portion focuses on getting those books onto your device. If you have a digital device, be sure to bring it for the hands on portion of the class. Class will be held on Thursday, October 1st from 2-4 pm at the LSC-Tomball Community Library in the second floor computer lab, Room L 216. For more information, call 832-559-4200.
