Oh, that is TOO cool...

Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library is hosting an introductory 3D Printing class Thurs, June 11 at 11 a.m. Come see a 3D printer for yourself, learn about the cool things people are doing with the technology, and get an introduction to Tinkercad - a 3D design creation website. Spanish Computer Classes and English Resume Formatting Class

Spanish Computer Classes are back! Sisi Medina, one of our Adult Reference Assistants, will be teaching two free computer classes in Spanish in March. Los Básicos de la Computadora will be held Monday, March 9th from 1-3 pm; Word en Español will be happen Monday, March 23rd from 1-3 pm. Both will take place in Room L-216, the public library computer lab. Registration is requested but not required. We are also starting a series called Word for Business, and in March, Megan Hopwood, our Technology Training Assistant, will feature a free evening class on formatting resumes. She won’t teach you how to create your resume—that’s up to you—but she will show you how to make it attractive. That’s Monday, March 23rd from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Registration, requested but not required, can be completed by phoning 832-559-4200 or by clicking on this link to the Word for Business: Resumes registration form and filling it out. It also will take place in Room L-216, our computer lab.

Computer Class Made Simple

Computer class has begun again. No need to feel it’s hard to learn. No need to think it’s much too fast. I can reassure you that it is very easy and stress free. So, don’t let anything stop you if you are ready to learn. Computer class is offered free at the Northwest Branch Library every Wednesday at 12:00 pm-1:00 pm. 

Computer Boot Camp Coming in January!

Computer Boot CampDo you need some help getting started using a computer? Or perhaps you need to hone your computer skills? Beginning in January the Katy Library will be hosting a nine part Computer Boot Camp for new computer users. We will go over skills such as using the mouse and keyboard, organizing files and folders, copying & pasting, surfing the web and much more!

Holiday Cards Computer Class

Notch up your holiday cards this season by adding personalized touches with our do-it-yourself Holiday Gift Cards computer class.   We will be teaching you to create your own cards using Microsoft Publisher.  There are still openings for the Gift Cards Class this Tuesday, December 2nd at 7pm.  If you can’t make that one you can learn the basics with our Microsoft Publisher Class on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.  Both c

 Do you have a lot of photos that the world needs to see? Want to share your latest selfie? Or are you just tired of your photos being unorganized? Come on by Maud Marks Library on November 17 at 7 PM, the library is offering a computer class on Photo Websites & Apps in the computer lab. In this class learn how to organize, edit, and post your photos using popular websites like Flickr, PicCollege, and Dropbox. Start posting your photos in no time!

Facebook Photos anyone?

Do you Facebook?  Have you ever posted a picture?  Do you need to learn how?  Come to class tomorrow Friday, the 19th and our Tech Trainer will teach you the steps to posting, tagging and developing your photo albums on Facebook.  The class starts at 3 pm and all ages are welcome.

What's a Flash Drive?

Come to the library on September 5th and find out what a flash drive is, what it does and just how to use it.  It may also be known as a jump drive, memory stick, or a usb drive.  At 3 pm, in our meeting room we will have a computer class to tell you just how to use it.  Trying to send an attachment from your e-mail to someone else but need to make changes first?  This class will tell you all about that.
