Free Computer Classes Return to Jacinto City

Free computer classes are returning to the Jacinto City library.  Saturday march 18th we will have a Basic computer class where we will go over very basic information about computers.  

Coming in April:

  • Keyboarding and mouse skills
  • Microsoft Word
  • Ebook help

Excel Computer Class @ Kingwood Library

Attention Kingwood Library patrons: it's not too late to sign up for the Excel 2013 Level 2 class offered on Thursday, February 23rd from 1-3 PM. This class will cover next level Excel functions in combination with a project.

Note: the Excel - Level 1 class is prerequisite.

Using the HCPL Catalog Workshop

Computer This Saturday, May 21st, from 3:30-4:30pm, Katherine Tyra library is having a workshop for using our new HCPL catalog. Find out how to search for items in the catalog through different techniques. Access your account to renew items, conveniently pay fines online, place holds, and more! 

The workshop is free and open to the public and will be held in our meeting room. Look forward to seeing you there!

Computer Class Update

 It's a new day and a new time.

Starting in September computer class will be held on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:00 AM.
Are you wanting to improve on your skills?
Are you getting back into the workforce?
Are just needing computer basics?
We have space for you here at Northwest Branch Library.

Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library is hosting an introductory 3D Printing class Thurs, June 11 at 11 a.m. Come see a 3D printer for yourself, learn about the cool things people are doing with the technology, and get an introduction to Tinkercad - a 3D design creation website. Spanish Computer Classes and English Resume Formatting Class

Spanish Computer Classes are back! Sisi Medina, one of our Adult Reference Assistants, will be teaching two free computer classes in Spanish in March. Los Básicos de la Computadora will be held Monday, March 9th from 1-3 pm; Word en Español will be happen Monday, March 23rd from 1-3 pm. Both will take place in Room L-216, the public library computer lab. Registration is requested but not required. We are also starting a series called Word for Business, and in March, Megan Hopwood, our Technology Training Assistant, will feature a free evening class on formatting resumes. She won’t teach you how to create your resume—that’s up to you—but she will show you how to make it attractive. That’s Monday, March 23rd from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Registration, requested but not required, can be completed by phoning 832-559-4200 or by clicking on this link to the Word for Business: Resumes registration form and filling it out. It also will take place in Room L-216, our computer lab.

Computer Class Made Simple

Computer class has begun again. No need to feel it’s hard to learn. No need to think it’s much too fast. I can reassure you that it is very easy and stress free. So, don’t let anything stop you if you are ready to learn. Computer class is offered free at the Northwest Branch Library every Wednesday at 12:00 pm-1:00 pm.
