Japanese Language Classes 4 Weeks in July

The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library will be having four beginning Japanese Language Classes for the public starting on Tuesday, July 9th at 5:30 pm.  There will be 4 consecutive classes each Tuesday, July 9, 16, 23, and 30.  Learn the basics of the Japanese language, and culture and participate in a weekly craft. Registration limit is twenty and the class is free.  It will take place each week, under the Tree House of Mercer Botanic Gardens.  You can register on line while there are spots available at hcpl.net, or you can simply call us at 832-927-5480.  Attendees are required to attend all four classes.  We hope you will join us for these wonderful classes taught by Ms. Shamguchi.  

Paint by Number Was a Big Hit

Fun Summer Programs at the Little Blue Library

The Little Blue Library inside Mercer Botanic Gardens has lots of programs going on right now for the whole family.  Today we had Space Seeds, for kids ages 9 to 11 years.  We learned about seeds and plants grown in space, and the importance of being able to grow vegetation even in outer space.  Tomorrow, Thursday June 20th we will have a program for teens, called Element Jar Necklace for ages 11 to 18 years.  With a little science and fun, we will take a tiny bottle and fill it with an element of our own making and wear it or share it.  This program will take place under the Tree House at 1:30 pm.  For more information on these programs, please call Victoria at 832-927-5480.  To see what other programs we have coming up, please check our events calendar at hcpl.net, or just come by and

Garden Wind Chimes

Today is Monday, April 22 and the Baldwin Boettcher Library has a wonderful children’s program in store for you.  We will be making wind chimes for your garden out of clay pots, beads, keys, bells, and anything else you can find that makes fun noises.  It will take place at 4 pm under the Tree House.  No registration is necessary and it is for ages 6 to 11 years.
