Children's Day / Book Day "DIY Hardcover Book"

Children's Day/Book Day (El día de los niños/El día de los libros) takes place on April 30th and celebrates children, families, reading, and the importance of literacy. School-age children are invited to join us to celebrate this important day by personalizing their own hardcover book with a variety of craft and decoration materials. Our DIY Hardcover Book program will take place next Wednesday April 25 at 4:30 PM and all materials will be provided.

Dia de los Ninos, Dia de los Libros Storytime April 26th @ 10:30 AM [3+]

 

     In celebration of Dia de los Ninos, Dia de los Libros, we will be hosting a bilingual storytime in the Library Community Room on April 26th at 10:30 AM.Stories will be read in English and Spanish, songs sung in both languages, and a craft. Please join us for a festive celebration. 

Celebrate Día with HCPL

diaJoin us this week in honor of the 20th anniversary of El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día.   Día is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Festivities this week at HCPL include hosting the play Bravo, Chico Canta! Bravo! adapted from the book by Pat Mora and Libby Martinez and presented by Brave Little Company.  

Chico Canta and his family invite you to make music, put on plays, and speak many languages inside the walls of the old theater where they live.
