Workforce Solutions will return to the Fairbanks Library in October to offer more FREE help to people looking for a job or a new job.  On Monday, October 8, from 2:00-4:00 pm, they will give advice on effective interviewing techniques, appropriate responses to common interview questions, and negotiating salary and benefits.  The interview is where jobs are won or lost, so learn how to maximize your chances.  The Monday, October 22nd, 2:00-4:00 pm, Rebranding Your Skills session will teach you how to identify the skills that you have and how to present them to potential employers in a way that allows you to move into a new job or a new industry.  Please call (713) 466-4438 or stop by customer service to register.

The employment market may be very different from the way it was when you started your current or previous job. Join experts from Workforce Solutions in two separate workshops as they help you navigate this new environment.

Creating a Resume. You may have the skills the employer is looking for and never get to the interview if your resume does not highlight those skills. Develop a professional resume that will match your skills and experience to the job and employer you are looking for. Most employers will ask you to complete an employment application, even if you have a great resume. Learn how to complete an application for employment thoroughly, accurately, and neatly. MeetingThe Fairbanks Branch of Harris County Public Library is partnering with Workforce Solutions to offer a series of free workshops for people who are searching for jobs or looking to make a career change.  All of the workshops will be at Fairbanks Branch Library at 7122 N. Job Fair in Katy Coming Soon

Good Job!If you’re looking for a job, be sure to visit Congressman Michael McCaul’s job fair on Wednesday, September 1st at the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy (6301 South Stadium Lane).  It runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm and includes more than 30 businesses from District 10 and across the state.  There is no cost to attend.  For more information about this event or to register your business to participate, visit Congressman McCaul’s website.

The Week @ the Katy Library – August 2nd Edition

The Week @ the Katy Library – February 15th Edition

This Tuesday, 2/16, is the Resumes class presented by the Texas Workforce Solutions.  If you’re working on your resume, you don’t want to miss this.  Also, we’ve started a new computer class taught in Spanish – every Friday at 4:30pm.
