Register for ESL Classes

     If you, or someone you know, is an adult who needs to learn to read, write and speak English better, you can register for English As A Second Language classes taught by trained volunteers at the North Channel Library: 15741 Wallisville Road, Houston, TX  77049   After you fill out an application and answer a few questions in English, we will advise you if you will be a Level 1 or a Level 2 student. We will schedule you for morning classes Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to noon  -OR-   evening classes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:45 pm. We will schedule you for the classes that work with your schedule. New classes will begin on Tuesday, April 22nd at 6 pm for the evening classes -and- Wednesday, April 23rd at 10 am for the morning classes. Please call for more information: 281-457-1631

Free Basic English Classes Testing Next Week

The Tomball campus of Lone Star College offers free Basic English Classes for a limited number of people from the community. If you want to take this class you MUST first be tested for your level of understanding of English so you can be placed in the appropriate class. There are always more people than spaces in these classes so come early to your testing, and if possible, come on the first day.

Coming to Texas

Created by students of the library ESL Outreach program, volunteer Krista Lewis Abedrabbo and librarian Ruth McDonald. The display was designed by Jill Vu and Zana Kadriu, with Dorrie Scott.
