Celebrate the African American Heritage!

 (C) 2014 http://static.tumblr.com/oebi3un/E9Sm11is4/wicb_jazz.jpg

This year, the Maud Marks Library has decided to go BIG in celebrating the African American Heritage.  How big?  Jazz Education, Inc. will be here on Friday at 1 PM to play some jazz music perfect for dancing.  Afterwards, we'll make some African masks, jazz collages, and even work together to turn one wall in the children's section into a giant Freedom Quilt.  While working on our projects, we'll munch on food important to African American history.  Join us as we celebrate the contributions of the African American culture.

Building a Bright Future for Babies @ the Library!

I've had the honor of working with children and their families for twenty seven years; eleven of which, have been at the Atascocita Branch Library. I am one of those lucky people who truly enjoy what they do, and the Infant Lapsit program is one of my greatest loves.

Eleven years ago, we started with just one Infant Lapsit program a week. Over the years, the program has grown and we now off three baby times each week. It has been a delight to see your children grow, and to see their continued use of the library. I know in my heart that these children will continue to have books in their lives and are on the path to becoming lifelong learners.
