Tomball German Heritage Festival

If you are looking for a fun and culturally stimulating activity for this weekend, head up to Tomball for the Tomball German Heritage Festival.  This annual festival celebrates the heritage of the original Germans who settled this area in the 1840s and is held in Old Tomball near the Historic Train Depot Plaza.

Time for the Lions!

Maud Marks Asian Pacific Heritage Festival is back and it's THIS Saturday!  Come from 1-4 for crafts, food, cooking demonstrations, bonsai, origami, dancing, and more!  Don't forget, be here by 3:30 for our ever popular Vietnamese Lion Dance.  Will the lions play with you this year?  We thank The Friends of the Maud Marks Library for sponsoring this event.

Katy Folk Life Festival

Fireworks courtesy of Clker.comThis Saturday is Katy ISD's 30th Annual Folk Life Festival from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center at 6301 South Stadium Lane in Katy.  Admission is only $1 - don't miss it!

Free Family Vacation

lion danceI picture a tropical island or bustling oriental town. It  looks like there is some kind of event being planned.   Everyone is excited, anticipating the start of the festivities.  The children can't wait to make a Chinese yo-yo, origami doll or flower lei. Every mouth is watering at the smell of all the different foods being prepared for the event. People have gathered from many Asian countries and Pacific islands to share their culture through cooking and calligraphy demonstrations, crafts, and even a Vietnamese Lion Dance! There is lots of music, laughter, and fun. The whole family is having a great time.  Wait!

HISPANIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL-SAVE THE DATE!

On Saturday September 26th, the North Channel Library will host the annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. Please mark this date on your calendar! Commissioner Sylvia Garcia will be on hand to kick off the celebration. Puppeteers will present a fun show in the Children's Area. Then we move outside for free food, crafts, music and more from 10 am until 2 pm. Businesses are invited to make donations. Please call for more information: 281-457-1631
