Excel 2016 - Level 1 Class

Join us at Kingwood Library for a free computer class on Excel 2016 - Level 1 this Thursday, November 8th, from 1-3 PM. Basic Excel in combination with a project will be covered. Self register online or by calling 832-927-7830.

Free Computer Classes

The South Houston Branch Library offers free computer classes for adults every week. Tuesdays at 10:30 am we have computer classes in English, and the class subjects repeat on Thursdays at 10:30 am in Spanish. Classes are free and no registration is required. New Location and Class for ESL @ Baldwin Boettcher Library

English as a Second Language Classes are still going strong at Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library.  We continue to have our Monday basic class with our beloved Cindy at 6 pm, but the location has recently changed.  It is now in a building, which is located at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  We now also have our Friday class back with the wonderful Teresa Allen.  It is another basic English class for the community members who want to learn the English language or improve their English speaking skills.  That class starts at 1 pm every Friday at the same building as the Monday evening class.  It is a free service to the community and there is no registration necessary.   For more information, please call Cindy at 832-927-5480.  

AARP Tax Aide: Almost Tax Day

Tax day is fast approaching, and AARP is still providing free tax aide to the public.   They will continue to be at St. James Catholic Church 22800 Aldine Westfield Rd in Spring, TX  77737 until Monday, April 16.  They are there, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.  The service is first come first serve, so no appointment is necessary. 
Records to bring with you:
Picture ID for you and your spouse Social Security/ ITIN cards for all person on tax return.
• Tax info – W-2, form 1099, 1098, etc…
• Prior year’s tax return, if available.
• Documentation for itemized deductions p medical, charitable, property taxes, etc.

Conversational English Class Starting Soon!

The South Houston Public Library will start offering an English Conversational Class on Monday, March 12, 2018.  Classes will be every Monday from 6:30 pm to 8 pmClasses are completely free but registration is required.  To register visit the South Houston Branch or call us at 832-927-5530.

Arm Yourself with a Flu Shot!

It is still not too late to get your flu shot!  We are experiencing a very severe flu season so do not put it off any longer!  The South Houston Branch Library in partnership with our local Walgreen's Pharmacy wil be offering flu shots on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 1pm-3pm.  Shots will be administered to people ages 12 and up only.  Please bring your health insurance card.  Quantities are limited.  For more information please call the branch at 832-927-5530.

Fall Festival!

The South Houston Branch Library will be hosting its annual Fall Festival on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5-6 pm.  Bring the whole family and join us for a fun filled afternoon.  This event is free of charge and recommended for children ages 12 and under.  Activities and prizes provided courtesy of the Friends of the South Houston Library and other community supporters.  For more information please call the library at 832-927-5530.

Ms. Monkey's Show

Join us on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 @ 3 pm  to monkey around with Sasha, Cody & Darwin. They're three of the friendliest, most loving trained Capuchin monkeys. They will be here to entertain the children and will be available after the program to take pictures! No registration is required to attend, Space is Limited so please arrive early.
