Free Tax Assistance

AARP Tax Help Continues !

AARP Tax Help continues for patrons needing help filling out tax forms before the April 15 deadline!  This free service will be provided on Wednesday, April 2, and Wednesday, April 9, from 9 AM to 1 PM in our library Meeting Room.  Assistance is provided on a first-come first-served basis.  For more information, contact the library @ 281-360-6804 or stop by our Adult Services information desk.

Tax Assistance Still Available

The AARP offers free tax assistance at the Maud Marks Library on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  They will not be here on Friday, March 29 because the library is closed for Good Friday, but they will return the following Monday, April 1.  If you aren’t able to come on Mondays or Fridays here is a list of places nearby where you can get help.  Be sure to bring all of your paperwork and Social Security cards for everyone listed on your return.   

Would You Like Help With Your Taxes?

Do you dread having to do your taxes? Need Help? 

Each week through April 15th, AARP will be here on Mondays to assist tax filers with electronic tax returns. You do not have to be an AARP member to benefit from this program. In fact, it is free to to anyone needing assistance with most standard tax return filings.  

The program begins at 10:00 am and will run through 2:00 pm. Please be aware that it is offered as a first come first served basis, and make sure to bring appropriate documents.
