Pajama Storytime on Thursday, August 22 @ 6pm

Looking for a fun way to transition your young ones to a good night's sleep?  Join us this Thursday, August 22 @ 6:00 pm for Pajama Storytime.  This storytime features books, songs, fingerplays and a craft.  It is recommended for children of all ages - especially preschoolers.  Children are welcome to get comforrable by wearing pajamas, slippers and even bringing a favorite stuffed animal.  Tickets are given out at 5:30 pm.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk.

2019 SRP: Join us for a very merry unbirthday party on Thursday, August 1 @ 2:30 pm

Children are invited to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program and all our birthdays on Thursday, August 1 at 2:30 pm.   We'll have crafts, activities, and treats to celebrate all the reading we've been doing this summer.  No tickets are needed for this fun time.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program and many others throughout the year.

We're in the last week of the 2019 SRP

It's hard to blelieve, but we're in the last week of the 2019 Summer Reading Program.  There's still time for children from infants through 12 years old to sign up to get rewards for reading and coming to programs throughout the summer.  Children who have signed up but not completed the program are welcome to come to find out their status.  The rewards are a book for 100 points; a coloring book for 200 points, and a medal for 300 points.

We have several fun programs this week that children can attend:  Tuesday, July 30 Craftapalooza from 2:30-4 pm.  No tickets are needed for this program for children of all ages.  We're cleaning out the crafts closet, so we'll have lots of pipe cleaners, pompons, stickers, ribbons, etc to make some colorful pieces. 

SRP Program: Meet a NASA Flight Controller on Friday, July 19 @ 10:15 am

Looking of an out of this world good time for the children this Friday monring?  Join us this Friday, July 19 at 10:15 as we welcome Ryan East, an ISS Flight Controller who will talk about working at NASA and his work with the astronauts.  No tickets are needed for this educational progam.   

SRP Program: Join us for a Block Party on Thursday, July 18 from 2:30-4 PM

  Looking for a fun place for the childen  to hang out this Thursday 7/18?  Join us for a Block Party from 2:30-4 pm.  We'll have an assortment of blocks and bulilding mateirals with which children of all ages cao create: Blocks, Duplos, Legos and Straws and Connectors.  No tickets will be needed for this program.

SRP Program: Baby Playtime on Friday, July 12 @ 10:00 am

  Looking for a fun playdate for you and the baby?  Join us Friday, July 12 at 10:00 am for Baby Playtime.  This program is designed for children from newborns to 18 months.  It features songs, playtime, bubbles, and a cute activity.   No tickets are needed for this program.

  Looking for a fun outing for the family this Thursday evening?  Join us on Thursday, July 11 at 6:00 pm for Pajama Storytime.  This fun evening storytime combines books, songs, and fingerplays with a craft.  Children can dress in their comfy pajamas and slippers and bring a stuffed animal friend, too.  Tickets are given out at 5:30 pm.

SRP Program: Bugs on Wheels visits Freeman Library on Thursday, July 11 starting at 2:30 pm

   Looking for a fun and educational outing on Thursday with the children?  The Houston Museum of Natural Science brings us "Bugs on Wheels" on Thursday, July 11 starting at 2:30 pm.  We'll have several sessions of this program that will take children and their adults in groups of about 30 to see live bugs and specimens.   Tickets will be given out for each session starting 30 minutes before the session.

Freeman opens at 1 pm on Thursdays.   Our SRP programs have been well attended this summer, so children and their caregivers may want to arrive about 15-20 minutes before the tickets are given out. We'll give out the tickets for the 2:30 pm session at 2:00 pm.

SRP Program: Fourth of July Crafts on Tuesday, July 2 from 2:30-4 pm

   Kick off your Fourth of July celebrating by making some colorful Fourth of July crafts on Tuesday, July 2 from 2:30-4 pm.   We will be making a rocket, a patriotic hat, a sparkler wand, and a colorful picture frame.   We'll also have a scavenger hunt and activity sheets. This program is recommended for children of all ages and their family members.   No tickets are needed.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman for supporting this program.

                                             Childre are welcome to wear red, white and blue to celebrate the Fourth of July!

Toddlers in Motion on Friday, June 28 @ 10:15 am

Looking for a fun way for you and your toddler to have a playdate with other families?  Join us on Friday morning June 28 at 10:15 am for Toddlers in Motion.   We'll have fun singing and dancing and then we'll pull out lots of fun toys for the children to enjoy.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available when we open at 10:00 am.
