Be a Friend

FriendshipEveryone needs a friend - including the library.  The Friends of the Katy Library provide the funding for all of our programming.  If you've come to a craft program, you've used supplies they bought.  If you've joined in our annual birthday celebration, you've eaten food they provided.  If you've enjoyed the garden in our back courtyard, you've appreciated the time, money, and sweat they've given.  Support the library and its Friends by coming to the annual book sale on Saturday, 3/16 at the VFW Hall on George Memorial Drive in Katy.  You can also support them by buying a book in the lobby or a tote bag at the front desk.  Even better - become a Friend yourself today!  Ask at one of our service desks, and we'l

BOOK SALE THIS SATURDAY

This Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm, you can buy gently used books at bargain prices at Tomball Library. The sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will take place in the first floor meeting room--Room L 129--behind the Adult Fiction department.

The Friends of the Library is a non-profit support group that, through its fundraising efforts, funds library programs. Throughout the year the Friends operate a small book sale room off the main entrance. But this Saturday, tables and tables of fiction and non-fiction, paperbacks and hardcover books, steamy romances and boilerplate thrillers--and probably DVD's and VHS's--will be awaiting your inspection. Come and select stocking stuffers for your loved ones.

Many Thanks

CheckJean H. puts in a lot of volunteer hours at the library, doing literacy tutoring, going through the donated books and other items, restocking the shelves in the front hallway, and acting as Treasurer for the Friends of the Library.  Because she puts in so many volunteer hours here, her employer, CenterPoint Energy, has donated $500 to the Friends of the Library.  Thank you Jean and thank you CenterPoint!!  [Despite how much Jean does, the library is always looking for additional intelligent, reliable volunteers, especially adults, because they can volunteer while the teenagers are at school.]  Clipart © Jupiter Images.

FRIENDS OF THE MAUD SMITH MARKS LIBRARY BOOK SALE BARGAIN

Are you looking for a bargain?  We’ve got the best deal in town.  Nothing over $1.00.

The Friends of the Maud Smith Mark’s Library are having a book sale on Saturday, June 25th starting at 10:00 A.M.

I would just like to brag on this special group of volunteers for a little bit.  It takes a lot of time and energy to sort, store, set up, and sell the books for these sales.   I estimate about 1,000 volunteer  hours  to maintain the book sales throughout the year.
