Tween Time:Game Day!

 Calling all board gamers!  Join us Wednesday, December 30 at 2:30pm for Tween Time when we'll play traditional games and enjoy refreshments. We have a few new additions to our collection, so don't miss out on the fun! Games include Kerplunk, Battleship, Chutes and Ladders, Operation Shrek, Jenga, Connect Four, Candy Land and more...This program is recommended for ages 10- 12 years. Star Wars Day

Star Wars started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, and it captured the imaginations of everyone who saw it.  Now another generation of Stars Wars is here and Northwest Branch Library wants to celebrate. Come dressed as your favorite character and join us Saturday, December 19th from 10 am to 4 pm.  In our meeting room will be Space City Sabers, a group that will teach kids 5+ light saber skills.  Tickets will be available 15 minutes before each session at the top of the hour 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm.  Space is limited to 10 kids per session.

Panamanian Children's Celebration

PanamaThis Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 am come celebrate the Panama Canal's 101st Panama Canalanniversary with us.  See a collection of art from the children of Panama, which will be on display all month. Hear stories about Panama.  See and touch cultural objects and learn more about the people and history of Panama presented by Nidya Pitti Granadino.  Stay for games, refreshments and crafts.  This event is for all ages.

Country Club: South Africa

Join our library "Country Club" as we "travel" to a different country each month to sample food, music, games and more!

In October we will stamp our passports in South Africa where we will welcome a special guest and try some food, music, stories and dance traditions.

Get an extra sticker for your passport by bringing your wellies (rain boots)!

Teen Hangs starts again

Yes, Maggie has moved to the state of Washington.  However her teen hangs is still going to happen in the fall.  So on the first day of school, August 24th come join us in the meeting room.  The staff at Aldine Library will try to carry on using the same style and traditions that Maggie created.  See you there!

Goofy Games Day

Come Monday at 3 pm for Goofy Games Day at Teen Time. We'll be playing Live-Action Pac-Man, Balloon Ping Pong and more! All teens and tweens 10-18 are welcome. Snacks will be provided.
